This mob would be humanoid in nature, a nearly-dessicated lanky sinister look with large leathery wings that help it float safely to ground or cross small obstacles (it otherwise cannot fly, but it can hop-flutter up a 5-block ledge). It has about 66% the health of a common mob (zombie, skeleton, etc), and it always spawns in pairs. Each member attempts to stay between 7 and 14 blocks away from the other, and they move in mirror tandem to each other (one goes to the left, the other will go right) at roughly the speed of a strafing skeleton.
It has two basic attacks. One is a ranged attack wherein one member tosses something akin to a chakram towards the other (the target is obviously between them). The damage dealt is based on the distance to the target--every 2 blocks of distance equates to the next material tier [wood, stone, iron, diamond]. Regardless of the result, the weapon always ends up in the hands of the opposite member. The other attack is a melee attack, performed by the member without the ranged weapon and it equates to iron-level damage (a presumed bonus for getting behind the target).
When 3 or more are engaged on the same target, there is a chance that a random item (excluding armor and offhand/mainhand items) is stolen. When the target approaches the member holding the item, it is tossed to an opposing member that is further away from the player. Due to current strafing mechanics, there's a chance the pair get separated beyond their limits and therefore the item is potentially destroyed/dropped (the member dies with the item falling in an item-destroying material like lava or fire) or otherwise made inaccessible due to difficulty reaching the member holding it. In such cases, the item is not attempted to be thrown.
