Motors are redstone compatible blocks which change the rotation of the block in front of it. Blocks which cannot be rotated will stay in the same orientation. blocks which cannot move(obsidian, bedrock) will cause the motor to not spin. powering the motor will make it turn 90 degrees but must be turned off and on again to be rotated once more. clicking the motor(without shift) will change the direction in which it rotates. If a motor is connected to a slime blocks, it will turn them, as long as they are made up of 20 blocks or less. Blocks which require another block to be a certain location relative to it will be destroyed.
Assuming it is unable to rotate extended pistons, and that blocks on the sticky face of sticky pistons are not carried along… (I have no philisophical objections to these, I just see implementation complexities.)
apply here as well.
The motor proposal, however, adds a second distict functionality: that of rotating (small) structures.
Because it rotates when powered it allows action without immediate player interaction opening the possibility of a whole new range of devices.
The only immediate use (not doable by other means) that springs to mind is creating lighthouses with actual rotating lights; fun but hardly sufficient to justify the item.
Even so, the added functionality if sufficiently different from anything currently available that I would like to see this developed.
Probably not suitable for vanilla without extensive testing, having access to this in a mod through a few iterations might develope something as useful as the piston.

My idea: motors.

Similar proposals for one functionality [a way to rotate a placed block] have been made at least twice before:
Wrench [rotates blocks] by CattyCat (discussion in the linked reddit)
and
New Tools- Wrenches and Hammers by Wolftopia
my comments in the latter https://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/minecraft-java-edition/suggestions/2873777-new-tools-wrenches-and-hammers?page=2#c26

1. It's a redstone block.
2. What about a crane?
3. I'll look for a mod with something like this.

I found a mod that works Similar to how this idea works. Its called the ROTATOR there.

I suggest not using the site 9minecraft as it steals mods and possibly installs viruses. Here is an MCForum link right here
ok then. I just clicked the first one.(sry)
