I don't mean as a weapon. A scythe can be made by adding 1 stick and 1 wood, stone, iron, gold or diamond to the correct hoe. The scythe could work as a hoe but hoes a 3x3 area. Also could clear grass better in a bigger area depending on the material. As an easter egg the Scythe should be able to get Smite 2-8 this idea is amazing for builders who don't like grass and flowers messing up their builds. Also could rarely turn seeds into wheat?

Don't pretend to be someone you aren't. Be yourself. Even if you try to be someone else ill knows its you. Your a terrible actor.
Great idea! i know I would love that cuz I am always punching out grass in the area I have my homes as I dont like the look of it and that would actually be very helpful. Maybe they could have another use as a weapon, but only against the undead like zombies and stuff?

Well I said they would have smite 2-8 when enchanted so yeah effective against undead when enchanted.

This seems unnecessary, for clearing larger areas of plants a water bucket already works well…
[From the description it appears you want to remove flowers and tall grass leaving grass blocks, not convert grass to dirt ]
The Smite enchantment currently tops out at Lvl5 in vanilla; taking this up to Lvl8 would add an additional 7.5 damage (33/4 hearts) [beyond the 12.5 damage (61/4 hearts) bonus given by Lvvl5 ] which seems excessive.
Having tall grass drop wheat instead of seeds (which is what I take "Also could rarely turn seeds into wheat" to mean) would skip the need to farm wheat at the cost of losing the geometric increase planting and harvesting gives. This is actually fairly balenced, but I don't see a great utility to the effect....

WARNING: I have an extemely "grindy" playstyle; YMMV — if this doesn't seem fun to you, mine what you can from it & bin the rest.
I see where you're going with this, but I think this suggestion would be vastly improved if it was simply to allow the hoe to clear a 9x9 area of grass if anything at all. It simply doesn't fit with the ethos of Minecraft. Perhaps there could be an enchantment for the hoe which enabled it to effect a 9x9 area. This way it would build on the usability of the hoe as well as accomplish exactly what you're suggesting. Also, you can't use scythes as hoes, but hoes are very effective at clearing grass from an area, (I've done some landscaping in the past).

The turning seeds into wheat is an easter egg referencing stardew valley because you can harvest grass with a scythe to turn it into hay and the scythe having high enchants for smite is because well its a scythe and that is an obvious easter egg

This.
I can barely say anything about this suggestion that hasn't already been said, because you've given us a tiny amount of detail for an entire new tool.
A new tool has to be worth the trouble of keeping it in your hotbar, which already is going to have a pickaxe, sword, axe and shovel in it most of the time, if not a bow and food. Where do I fit my building blocks in there at this point?
I also don't see the Scythe getting Smite 2-8 (Which is an obscene level for any enchantment) as an "easter egg". Easter Eggs are normally references to other media (books, movies, games, etc.) and normally they don't unbalance the game like in this crazy fashion.
No Support.

My avatar is a texture from a small block game I made in Python. It's not very good and it probably won't work if you install it.
I'm very alone in my Minecraft worlds as I don't have a very good internet connection to run a server. If you're like me, you might be interested in my Posse mod suggestion.

Instead of adding a new tool, how about just expand on the hoe. This would be like making a hatchet, cutlass, etc.
