Questions: What is the reason/advantage in having larger oaks?
Are they like existing large oaks or mega 2x2 truck oaks?)
Isn't there already a Flower Forest biome with extra flowers?
---
I guess it's fair though, since there does exist a Birch Forest variant of Forest without Oak...so an Oak Forest variant Forest without Birch doesn't seem unfair.

More biome variety never hurts, especially if it helps offset the climate zone system that 1.7 introduced (more biomes within each zone, which otherwise do not have as much variety as the old system; of course, no matter how many more biomes you add you'll never get anything like this unless they remove the climate system, or at least make it optional).
Also, I don't know if it inspired this suggestion but my own mod adds a "Mega Forest" biome which sounds similar:
The trees may be a bit too much though, as they are far larger than anything that exists in vanilla (some may be up to 64 blocks tall and have more than 500 wood, or around 4 of the largest jungle or spruce trees). I also had to modify the way the light opacity of leaves is handled in this biome so they aren't so dark. They are closer to a real forest though than the current Minecraft forests; near the ground you'll find small bushes, then small oaks, some with taller trunks than usual, and large oaks, then mega trees, some taller than the rest:
Another biome that could be added is a "Big Oak Forest" biome consisting of big oak trees, including a variant with a 2x2 trunk (this is actually in the vanilla game but the game doesn't use it):
They should have an oak specific biome and have taller trees, but not 4x4 wood. Jungle, spruce, and dark oak are the ones that can be bone mealed 4x4 to make large trees. Oak, birch, and acadia are the smaller ones.
This Mega Forest is a variant of our beloved Forest biome, the Mega Taiga biome has taller spruce trees so I thought it could adjust in forest biomes.
In Mega Forests, you'll find more flowers than the usual forest biome. There will be no Birch trees in this biome.

TheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download.
TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4.
Why do I still play in 1.6.4?
