Okay, so you know when you go chopping trees, occasionally you'll get an apple? Well, why is that the only fruit that we can obtain from trees? Surely in 8.5 years time we should get more fruit options? Well, now I've found a solution.
Orange Trees
In jungle and forest biomes, there will be a chance that one of the trees grows oranges (excluding birch). Oranges have a 10% chance of dropping from oak trees, while oranges have a 50% chance of dropping from jungle trees. Oranges restore 2 food bars.
Orange Juice:
Orange Juice is crafted with a glass bottle and an orange. Orange Juice restores 3.5 food bars.
Lemon Trees
Lemons can drop from birch trees and dark oak trees. Lemons have a 50% chance of dropping from birch trees, while oranges have a 10% chance of dropping from dark oak trees. Lemons restore 2 food bars.
Lemonade:
Lemonade is crafted with a glass bottle, sugar, water glass bottle and a lemon. Lemonade restores 4.5 food bars, because that balances out the expense of lemonade.
Mango Trees
Mangoes can drop from Acacia trees. Mangoes have a 55% chance of dropping from acacia trees. Mangoes restore 2 food bars.
Mango Smoothie:
Mango Smoothie is crafted with a mango and a milk bucket. Mango Smoothies restore 3.5 food bars.
Grape Trees
Grapes can drop from Spruce trees. Grapes have a 55% chance of dropping from spruce trees. Grapes restore 2.5 food bars.
Fruit Salad
Fruit Salad is crafted with a mango, grape, apple, orange and a bowl. Fruit Salad restores 4.5 food bars. Fruit Salad cannot stack.
I suppose I could add pinecones as a fuel, but pinecones aren't really that useful. I think I'll stick to my idea, maybe it's not that realistic but all of them are useful.
There are actually many different types of cones for each tree, but one would be simpler. Tree Cones if added would not be specific to any tree and are more common than the fruit drops. (It won't lower fruit drops, but rather lower the chance of leaves dropping nothing.) They have 2 uses.
If you're going to center all the text, can you at least make an effort to avoid lines taken up by a single word?
Whilst I personally love the idea of having a colorful array of foods to eat in Minecraft... The reality is that it's just sprites that increase a number.
Now... I'm not totally against new foods if they make other more useless ingredients more useful. Things like sugar, milk, cocoa, etc. can be used in a few food recipes right now, but not very practical ones. Usually they just fill up your saturation a bit.
Here's the problem: You need to make it worth upgrading the food. All of the fruit here needs to either heal a tiny amount (half a hunger shank to a full hunger shank at most) or shouldn't be eatable (Might be worth it in the case of the Lemon, even though I like to eat those things.) unless it has another purpose, such as being used in potions or certain items. In which case it's probably worth removing the upgraded version of the food.
Let's look at each idea one by one...
Orange: Glass Bottles are cheap. There's no reason to eat raw oranges unless you're desperately in need of food. But there's no real reason to find them either because they don't really craft into anything special or practical when other food sources are much easier to find. (At the very least you could make the recipe require sugar for this one.)
Lemon: If we're adding fruit to the game, this would be the one I'd want to add. I'd suggest making it spawn in dungeons too. Two changes though: Make them inedible while raw, and allow them to be put in one other food: A lemon meringue pie. (Which requires an egg, sugar and a lemon to match Pumpkin pie.)
I still think they could use a use in potions though... (Possibly the Potion of Luck, since that doesn't seem to have a crafting recipe yet, but I don't really consider lemons "lucky". I'm also not sure how balanced this would be...)
Mango: Mangoes grow in jungle-y areas, Acacia biomes don't really seem to fit the habitats of Mangoes. Though I don't really know what fruits would fit this biome. Dates maybe?
I do like the idea of giving milk another use, because I think the only thing I use milk for is cake. And again, uses other than food are a good idea.
Grape: Everything about Grapes growing on trees and not vines feels wrong to me...
Heck, I think I'd rather farm grapes as a crop, if they had a use beyond just being grapes. (But I doubt Mojang plans to add alcohol references into the game for some reason... Although we do have fermented spider eyes.)
Fruit Salad: Kindof a sandwich item, and doesn't seem necessary since two of the foods used to craft this meal at most will give you more hunger refilled than the salad itself.

Oranges- Water bottles are useless as well. They're just base ingredients.
Lemons- I agree with the pie idea. In fact, all fruits should have pies. The dungeon and potion ideas don't make sense.
Mango- Maybe switch with orange because I know for sure oranges grow in savannahs.
Grape- Maybe grapes drop from vines instead of leaves. They are like carrots and drop more than one. If Mojang thinks they are too alcholic, they could try cranberries instead. Maybe just berries to not be inaccurate in certain biomes.

Water bottles are used in potions, and that doesn't excuse the fact that oranges on their own are useless for anything but juice.

The dungeon idea was just for the sake of because it would have a golden version. The potion is so that it has... any use besides food. (Which is easy to make a problem of the past with a big enough potato farm.)
Mango- Maybe switch with orange because I know for sure oranges grow in savannahs.
I was pretty sure they grew in Tropical areas actually...
It's really hard to think of any fruit that fits into a savanna. (Besides Berry Bushes from Age of Empires 1.)
Grape- Maybe grapes drop from vines instead of leaves. They are like carrots and drop more than one. If Mojang thinks they are too alcholic, they could try cranberries instead. Maybe just berries to not be inaccurate in certain biomes.
It's not the grapes themselves, it's that if they want to add a use to them, they probably can't add wine or something similar to that to the game. Also... Vines are incredibly easy to farm...

Very true. Berries should only give 2 food points which is one full hunger bar. One vine drops 4 except if fortune is used. Plus the chance is rare. Tell me if you think this food source is still overpowered.

I like this idea a lot, but I think lemonade should use 1 water bottle and no normal glass bottle. It cuts the cost down a bit, so maybe 3.5 or 4 bars of food instead.
I know this is a little of topic, but if their were trees, they would be the following.
Palm- Yellow log with the top like oak wood. It's "fruit" is the cocunut. Right click to throw like an egg. Combine with shears to get 2 cocunut shells (basically cracking a cocunut). You keep the shears just like in the carved pumkin thing coming up soon. Add cracked coconut to milk to get cocunut milk. This gives the player immunity for 0:30 which is resistance to all status effects. Wear on head to so all potions thrown by mobs give less damage.
Maple- Bright brown with tints of dark pink. Red leaves. Syrup grows like cocoa beans. Right click with bottle to get bottle of syrup. Drink to fill up a food point.
yeah I feel like most food options in Minecraft are meats, there should be more plant based items. It would be cool for each tree type to drop a fruit (even if it doesn't irl. We already have oak and apple) like StickyPistonPig said. It would be funny to throw pine cones at things. I agree with C1ff that raw lemon shouldn't be edible because of sourness, but otherwise that is good. Citrus fruits originated in subtropical China, but I think dark oaks dropping them would be fine, as the jungle tree would be for the mangoes. As for the grapes, they should drop from special vines, or not be added at all.
Yes, I agree. Maybe each tree should have their own fruit/seed.
1. Oak: Apple
2. Dark Oak: Orange
3. Birch: Lemon
4. Jungle: Bananna
5. Spruce: Pinecone (Not edible)
6. Acadia: Mango
If you decide to add these, you can determine thier statistics.
I was just thinking of plants for Acacia and Spruce, thanks for the ideas!
Looks good. Full support
I assume that all the crafting recipies are shapeless.
Great ideas! (I also love adding the inedible Pinecone to Spruce trees--that's fun!) Full support.

1. smelting: not very good. same power as sticks.
2. throwing: same ability as eggs

Or even create new trees. It's more fun for the aspiring "homesteader"
