Did you ever want to drown a Mob with a block?
Today I present my first suggestion the Mud Block
Note: I have done this with the Terracotta block, although the design I have imagined is the same
How can this block be generated?
Using a bucket of water or rain fall on a block of land. It has the same duration of blows as a block of slime
The block can be used to defend the houses since the Mud Block can drown Mobs
It can also be used for MapMakers of Parkour maps
Bye
So would this work kind of like quicksand, where if you step in it, you slowly sink and get stuck?
I like the idea of it being a naturally generated block, perhaps spawning in low lying wet areas as a several block deep mud pit Perhaps regular dirt that is exposed to falling rain on the top also has a chance of turning to mud would be cool too
Like Rapolol said, how will the mud block actually hurt mobs? Is it like quicksand or something else? I need more detail before I can support.
I also have some issues with mud block spawning. If mud generates whenever water or rain touches "land" wouldn't it completely cover up the landscape underwater or the world after it rains? Perhaps it only affects dirt and only happens when exposed to water? (rain is random, do it might come off more as an inconvenience)
But overall, I like the idea. If you would give a bit more detail on how mud works and fix the spawning I'll support.

If it is like quicksand, to affect the mods you have to dig a hole of 2 blocks and drown the enemies, the player could also die if he falls there.
As for the land, it is the land that has no cedped and is not in the ocean

Did you ever want to drown a Mob with a block? Yes, with quicksand.
Today I present my first suggestion the Mud Block There's no period.
Note: I have done this with the Terracotta block, although the design I have imagined is the same
How can this block be generated? Terracota looks to hard to be a wet mud block.
Using a bucket of water or rain fall on a block of land. It has the same duration of blows as a block of slime No period, again. And are you saying every block of grass in the entire world will turn into mud? whatta bout coarse dirt?
The block can be used to defend the houses since the Mud Block can drown Mobs
It can also be used for MapMakers of Parkour maps
Bye Dude, put periods. And what if you suck at parkour and so you can't get into your house. And what it stops here? There's not enough detail therfore i'll give it a 4/10 rating. But not lower and not higher. If you think i'm being harsh i've seen posts allot worse. Oh, and one last thing. Your screenshot is not displayesd in english.

Hey guys I'm James, I used to be a noob but now I'm not, I finally figured out how to use TextCraft so here's a banner for one of my suggestions.
I feel like that not EVERY grass/dirt/whatever terrain block has the chance to turn into mud when rained on; only coarse dirt should have this ability. I like this concept, but would there be a way to turn mud back into coarse dirt?
Did you ever want to drown a Mob with a block? No, not really...
Today I present my first suggestion the Mud Block
Note: I have done this with the Terracotta block, although the design I have imagined is the same
How can this block be generated?
Using a bucket of water or rain fall on a block of land. By "land" do you mean "farmland" or just "dirt"?
It has the same duration of blows as a block of slime I'm guessing you mean that it takes the same amount of time to destroy this block as it takes to destroy a slime block.
The block can be used to defend the houses since the Mud Block can drown Mobs Do mobs detect this as a normal block when pathfinding, or is this just a clone of a cobweb?
It can also be used for MapMakers of Parkour maps I guess it can...
Bye This is a strange way to end a suggestion...
Ehh... Kinda Support, I guess?
I'm not really sure I like the idea of a cobweb clone, but I might approve of mud or quicksand if it's generated in the landscape, rather than refined.
So.. if I tried created a farm using some water (and intentionally the tilled area is next to it) I'll end up with mud. And if a rainwater fell onto the tilled area then I'll lose all the progress the crops were on.
He didn't say that water needed to be placed next to the farmland, he said "on" which I imagine means you have to place the water on top of the farmland. And he never said anything about rainwater, just the water source blocks that can be picked up in buckets.

My avatar is a texture from a small block game I made in Python. It's not very good and it probably won't work if you install it.
I'm very alone in my Minecraft worlds as I don't have a very good internet connection to run a server. If you're like me, you might be interested in my Posse mod suggestion.
Eh.. he did. Rain water comes from the rainfall cycle.
Goodness darn it! Rainwater is in there. Obviously yes, I don't want to cover up all of my farms, because that would be ridiculous.

He doesn't need perfect grammar or periods after everything. Also, you don't need to be good at parkour to enter your own house. He just means for mapmaking.
But seriously, Mancu, ya gotta say what you mean by "land blocks"
Blocks of dirt that have no grass and can not be affected by the ocean
Ok, in that case this could definitely work! Although I think the mud should change back to dirt once the rain ends, or the water goes away. To make permanent mud you could craft 8 dirt with a bucket of water.

I just thought of a natural generation but thank you

I would LOVE to have mud, but the mechanics would have to be different... possibly patches of it in lakes and rivers like with clay. Anywhere that it would clearly be sitting under water for an extended period of time to become mud.
Also I have to say I do not approve of mud drowning mobs. I would use it in my farms for the pigs to play in. Don't want my pigs all dying. lol
If you can make mud with water, it would be more realistic to craft it at a crafting table. Maybe something like this:
This would give you 8 mud blocks.
And as a second thought... instead of drowning mobs, maybe it would just have a slowing and subdue effect like soul sand does?
I don't understand how crafting mud would be more realistic. That would be like putting a water bucket and concrete powder to craft concrete. If you didn't know, concrete powder is a block that hardens into concrete when you put water over it. I like the idea of coarse dirt being the only thing that can be turned into mud.

I mean more realistic from a coding standpoint as well as bypassing the trouble with rain messing up farms and so on.
Coarse dirt changing to mud is sadly far less realistic than just mixing your own mud; as the name suggests, it's dried out dirt- in the real world this means the dirt can't absorb water. Hence why drier climates flood so much. As much as it would fix the obvious issues with dirt 'round the world turning into mud, this leaves a whole biome open to getting wrecked, as well as making it harder to get mud if you aren't in creative and unlucky with world gen.
May really just be better if it's like clay and shows up in patches under rivers and lakes.
Sadly though... the whole idea of actual mud in game, as much as I would love it, seems too troublesome to ever be implemented.

This would break farms. I don't want to walk to my farm to find that my crops have been destroyed because the land turned to mud.
