I've always thought that wool should be able to be crafted into at least 5 string. Also if you dye the wool and turn it into string it should be able to be turned into string of the same color. I don't think colored string should be used on bows. However maybe it can be used on trip wire hook. So if you want to make a bank vault with laser or looking things you can use Red string or whatever.
5 String or more from 1 Wool Block? That would make String infinite...
And I dont really see the Point of Colored String other than cramming your Inventory full.
String's already practically infinite; just farm it off of some spiders.
On topic, I think getting 5 string is a bit too much for one block of wool. I would see 2-4 work, but not 5.
String is used for tripwire traps, which are meant to be as invisible as possible. Which is why I think gray or black colored strings could work, but nobody's gonna use bright red strings. Best to just uncraft wool of any color into 2 strings, so it's a somewhat efficient way of recycling wool colors you don't use.
Colored strings COULD work against the right blocks depending on how it's colored.
Also, wouldn't it be a tad easier to let string be dyed?
The colorful string part seems interesting, however I don't like the part of uncrafting wood. I believe you can not uncraft anything in Minecraft.

Don't particularly think this is a good idea, even if it's limited to 4 string per wool block but yes, you can 'UNCraft' several blocks in MC. Iron, lapis, redstone, and gold for example
I agree with you with the dyed string but, they DID say they were going to make dyed wood, that never happend. Plus i think if you wanna craft wool into string, make it about 4, 5 is plenty.
Don't you think coloured string would take a quite a lot of programming and work, that kinda thing. Plus i think if you wanna craft wool into string, make it about 4, 5 is plenty.
Not really? I'm only just learning programming myself, but aesthetic additions shouldn't that hard.
You can craft a diamond block into nine diamonds. Seems pretty "uncrafty" to me. 5 string seems a bit much, as MuperSarioAu said. Perhaps 3 or so?
You got me there. But the fact that you can craft wool for 4 string, and uncraft it for 5 is unbalanced. Although I did say, "I believe" so I was unsure.

You can use four string to get wool, and use wool to get five string? This process nets +1 string each time, which is broken.
Colored string may be great for... decoration, maybe. I have mixed feelings about it.

I could be babbling nonsense, however.

I edited it, Monjang has been doing amazing programming. You're right, it'll be a piece of cake
