Wingion, a new mob that i think would be the threat for elytra user (Wingion is just a short of wing and minion). The mob has an elytra which has a texture of a bat like. It will strike you with it's claw. It will spawn above the cloud with no structure (clear sky, no high mountain). And they don't drop their 'elytra' for balance. Caution that they can also boot themself to if being far away from their 'target'. When died in the sky, they wouldn't just die in midair but instead will closes their wing, drop down like a plane that is about to crash, then die in the land.
It was sounding good up until "It will carry a bow"-forward. I don't know if I want an "air-skeleton" knocking me right out of the sky. It's already enough that you can't wear a chestplate and an elytra.

remove the holding bow part and have the thing bite you with no visible head or something, then i'll support... also it should drop a skin, which when crafted with an elytra will make your current elytra have a bat wing texture, but would be useless otherwise.
i don't usually like to double post, but i just saw this and it REALLY bugs me that you even have to ask this question, like, seriously dude, the OP literally says that it adds difficulty to players in the air, or players that enjoy building sky bases, sheesh.
Not a bad update, I also forgot to mention in my first post that I do like the idea of giving elytra users a risk. I went from not supporting the idea to now being neutral on it. Also, the name could probably use a rework.

Hmm, maybe the Swooper? Yes, I know, sounds stupid, but (pardon the incoming pun) I can't exactly come up with names on the fly, now can I?

I just took the Minecraft Noob test! Check out what I scored. Think you can beat me?!

Don't be such an airhead, when coming up with flying mob names, the sky's the limit. Heeheeh- *snort*
The "Swooper" is... ehh... I can't think of anything myself sadly.

Aside from arrows, there's not much another PVPer can do against an elytra wearing player. Especially with the firework boost. One could literally become a potion bomber, showering their opponents with poison, weakness, slowness and harming potions and rarely take a hit.

I like this edited version better, but I still don't understand why it should be in the game. Could you please explain this thing's purpose?
well it's because player with elytra are now considered to be free from mob, even at night when travelling. So i want to make the game more challanging by making the elytra user think twice before exploring in the air.

It sounds like he wants to add a small challenge to players who use elytras so they don't fly around too easy. So to balance it out, this mob kicks you in the buttcheeks a bit.

I'm not trying to be obtuse here, but I really don't understand why elytra users need to be challenged. It's an end-game item that acts as a transportation aid. It won't help you as much as a chestplate on the ground, but that's because it actually is already balanced for that. I know mobs can't really hit you in the air, but I don't see why they should.

Wingion are also very weak to firework explosion.

The idea is really cool. But it would be better if they don't use bows and instead attack you with a golden axe.
Updated it. I see people don't like the air skeleton thingy. So i give the wingion a claw in it's hand instead ( don't want to copy vex too much).

Good idea, but need some stats. Add how much damage it does ,and how much health it has, etc.
