You know what, who likes SIlverfish? No one does! Well what would your reaction be if they removed the eggs from them? SIlverfish Eggs in mountains is just nonsense. In real life, you don't see cube shaped eggs, completely covered with stone, around loads more of it around. What Silverfish mum would do that? Also, it makes Emerald hunting feel more annoying, so much so that I have to change to peaceful while I'm doing it!

Why? Just because it is annoying for you doesn't mean it will get removed. Silverfish are so easy to kill, one hit from a diamond sword kills them. You also stated you play on peaceful mode, so why would silverfish be a problem for you?

Almost forgot, stop speaking for everyone.
I said i had to play on peaceful to stop encountering them!
I hardly ever encounter silverfish as-is, mainly since I don't need to mine that much stone while caving (I still mine nearly as much stone as iron ore though) and they are not very common; the game generates veins of silverfish eggs with the same size and range as iron ore but only 7 veins per chunk instead of 20, and since iron ore is about 0.6% of all blocks underground around 0.2% are silverfish eggs - which means that you have to mine an average of 500 blocks per silverfish egg. Even when branch-mining it isn't very common (possibly rarer than diamond when considering that while diamond ore is around 0.1% of blocks you only mine two of those from a 1x2 tunnel, exposing 6 more blocks along the sides), and they are certainly not that dangerous - one hit with a diamond sword with any level of Sharpness (>= 8 attack damage) and they are dead without altering others, and otherwise deal only one point of damage.
I don't feel as if they are hard to deal with. If you have a decent pick you actually mine Silverfish blocks slower than other Stone because picks aren't considered their "tool", at least last I checked. So you always know which is which.
I wouldn't hate a better way to kill them though, like maybe lighting their block on fire kills them and changes it to Stone.

No support. When silverfish were found in only strongholds, having a silverfish come from a block meant Oh wow I am near a stronghold! Enderdragon here I come! I will admit they can be bit of nuisance, but eh they are just a little pest that doesn't affect much anyway.

While they can be a pest, that is honestly more of a good thing, as it does add more variety to the game, and they are ridiculously easy to deal with anyway. Tbh, I think they could even be made a little bit stronger! Also, emeralds can be used to get quite a lot of items if you happen to come across a village, so the silverfish sharing the same biome as them was a good move from Mojang in my opinion.
Summary: They add variation and challenge to the game, and help to balance out emeralds.

Besides the fact that emeralds are only found in the Extreme Hills biome which can be difficult to find sometimes, Mojang adding silverfish to the same biome does add a bit of a challenge. Plus silverfish can appear if you uncover one which puts you in an interesting exterminator vs an insect colony scenario.

If you break one silverfish block, only that one silverfish will attack you. If you hit it without killing it, then more silverfish appear.

I agree, as it is, emeralds are valuable enough and occasional silverfish eggs provide a decent defense.

The funniest thing about this signature is by the time you realize it doesn't say anything important it's already too late to stop reading it.

You know, you can just trade with villagers for emeralds...
I don't think we should remove them completely, but maybe remove them on Easy difficulty? Also, you could just use MCEdit to replace all the eggs with regular stone.

Removing them on Easy wouldn't work. Silverfish Blocks still exist, even in Peaceful, as they are generated when the world is first created.

If you'd like to talk with me about other games, here are a few I play.
Team Fortress 2
Borderlands series (Borderlands 2 is my favorite game, ever. TPS combat is a lot of fun and makes up for the lower-quality story, in my opinion)
Elder Scrolls series
Warframe (IGN is something like That_One_Flesh_Atronach)
Pokémon series (HGSS forever)
Rocket League
Fallout series
Left 4 Dead 2 (Boomer files always corrupt though)
SUPERHOT (SUPERHOT is the most innovative shooter I've played in years!)
Dead Rising series (Dead Rising 2 is one of my favorite games, and the 3rd was a lot of fun. 1st has poor survivor AI and the 4th is bad)
Just Cause series
Come to think of it, I mainly play fighting-based games.
Here's an idea. Blow em up with TNT. Or even better, set MobGriefing to false, and break em as much as you like, only one spawns, and the others don't pop out if you hit the original one.

If they are bothering you, keep playing on peaceful. No point of removing silverfish blocks just because they annoy you.

TheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download.
TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4.
Why do I still play in 1.6.4?
Unless you spend a long time clearing out an Extreme Hills, chances are you won't find enough that it's a problem.
And armor is a thing. Wear armor. It'll protect against blows.

According to the Wiki mining the monster egg with Silk Touch will do that.
Just testing.
