I have been looking at weapons that fit the Minecraft Medieval-like things, and I find most are variations of the sword/bow with pros and cons, while when you get out of Europe, which I like to think Minecraft is based in, the weapons seem to get to be based on something else, or in Asia, they are just randomized and not just based off of one single main weapon. Hrm....
Most weapons fall into "Slight Variations of a Theme". In Real life too.
Swords, Spears, Axes, Katars? In real life they are all Variations of a Theme, called "Slashing/Piercing Melee Weaponry" Things with Hilts/grips and sharp Ends to kill things with.
Nukes, Bombs, Cannons, Rockets? Slight Variations of a Theme called "explosives" They all make boom and kill.
Pistols? Rifles? Automatics? Muskets? Slight Variations of a Theme called "Guns", They all Shoot objects and Kill.
Bows, Crossbows, Longbows? Slight Variations of a Theme called "Projectile Weaponry", They all shoot projectiles and kill.
Mocking not appreciated.

No. Just makes more complicated 6x6 recipes to things we already have PLENTY of potential 3x3 recipes for. If you just want weapons that take more resources to make, craft stuff with iron blocks instean of iron ingots.
no way adding a new crafting table is like: "hey yeah i chopped wood! Let me make A DOUBLE CRAFTING TABLE! Hell yeah!!!" Crafting Tables would be like useless!

You can find the the general weapon thread here.
I don't think that stacking them next to eachother should do something as extreme as a literal jump. What I would like to see is logical progression.

This way, smacking 2 benches together gives you a 4x4 grid. Smacking 4 benches together gives you a 5x5.

I like the other idea, but your's seems more practical.
EDIT:Are they put together on a crafting space, or put like chests, as on the old idea?
