So lets say you just built a giant sewer system and you need a ladder to stretch down into the middle of a room. The only way to do that with the currant system is to have a row of ugly blocks behind it. This new block I am proposing would allow you to just connect the ceiling to the floor with ladders and you would be good to go!
And ladders movable by pistons would just allow people the opportunity to create piston doors that work with ladders, because that currently isn't possible either.
It would look like this->
While not super realistic, the uses and decor opportunities more than make up for it!
I don't know. It doesn't really fit with the style of Minecraft. Also, Mojang has probably thought of this by now, and since it wasn't implemented, they would have a reason against it. However, it is an interesting idea.Support, but I don't know how likely it is to be implemented.
P.S. you could just use barriers behind a ladder or some vines!

Dear Justin Bieber haters,
I owe my life to Justin.
On March 9th, 2013, I was in a coma for 6 months after a terrible car crash.
One day my nurse turned the radio to Justin’s song.
So I got up, and turned the radio off
"When life gives you lemons, don't make lemonade! Demand to see life's manager! Make life rue the day it thought it could give Cave Johnson lemons! Do you know who I am? I'm the man whose gonna burn your house down - with the lemons! I'm gonna get my engineers to invent a combustible lemon that'll burn your house down!"
P.S. you could just use barriers behind a ladder or some vines!
How will you use barriers in normal survival play?

Yeah, that guy in the avatar is me. I'm *that* strange. It happens. Sometimes people act like that. Just go with it. I can offer help with suggestions even before you post them - NOT make your suggestions - but help you with them.

I remember seeing that suggestion on reddit. Support, I welcome variations of existing blocks, even more if they're unique.

I don't think the ladder needs an upgrade like this, but it's sensible.
Neutral stance.
