so i have recently been thinking. why shouldn't all monsters drop bones?
i mean i am sure they have bones. other whys cows couldn't walk chickens couldn't fly sheep couldn't jump and pigs couldn't swim.
so why dosent notch make the game more realistic and make most of the animals drop bones?
maybe he could make certain type of bones so it dose not make farming to easy but i am sure he could put it into the game easy noticing its not adding any new stuff just changing old stuff somewhat.
also you can still just not pick up bones if you want to keep it hard and have only skeletons drop them but what about the peaceful farmers that want there crops to grow faster?
and maybe bones don't have to instantly grow stuff because there less rare. maybe it could be one stage per bone meal.i don't think this would effect much people in making the game more easy either.
Passive mobs that would be effected: Cow,Pig,Sheep,Chicken.
Passive mobs that would not be effected: Squid.
Passive mobs that would be effected: Zombie pigman (if zombies have bones not sure.)
Passive mobs that would not be effected: Spiders (in day)
Aggressive mobs that would be effected: Zombie (if zombies have bones not sure.),Skeletons (Dur),Spider jockey (Only the skeleton part),Creeper.
Aggressive mobs that would not be effected:Spiders (in night) ,Slime,Spider jockey ( Only the spider part),Ghast.

Bones were created to be a unique drop item for the skeletons because they only had arrows and feathers before. But on the idea that bones fall out of all vertebrates: it would be difficult to remove the skeletal structure of creatures as they poof into dust. With skeletons they just fall apart and make bones. With other creatures, it would take some more in-depth dismantling process, i.e. surgery or "Mortal Kombat" on their skeleton. I do see where you are coming from but it seems like too much detail for now. Skeletons=bones, pig=ham, spider= string, etc. makes simpler sense. Can you imagine if every creature dropped every single organ and structure they have every time they die? A single pig would drop over a hundred bones, bunches of meat chunks, pig skin, and all soft-tissue organs. This is an extreme case but I hope it helps illustrate my point. Keepin' it simple.
lol true :tongue.gif: its just to make it a little more realistic. maybe one bone per kill and only sometimes? like every 1/10 or 1/20th kill?
because if you think about it makes it alot more realistic if you kill a monster with a sword you basicly cut them open and then you could pull the bone out or it would just fall out. but thank you for not acting like a troll XD also im pritty sure somewhere someone suggested wild dogs as a mob. if they put this into the game if you read my section about diffrent types of bones maybe the dogs you could give cow/pig bones and theyd become your friend.

I think that other monsters should all get their own "secondary" drops.
For example,The creeper has cat.ogg.
The spider should drop a web block along with as string sometimes. (works like slow sand,But you can clime it like a ladder too,Slowly...)
Zombie drops should be changed to mushrooms,Then their other drop be a piece of bread. (Why not?)
Pigmen's secondary drop,Chainmail armor.
Ghast's secondary drop,Ghast bladder. (usable for hot air ballons,Or decorative balloons...
Squid drop tentacles for their secondary drop. (Nom nom,Calamari!)
And finally,Slimes,When killed by creepers,Drop a "blue record" (Plays dramatic orchestral music)

they fly down and dont take any damage
