Seems a little conspicuous, but I feel we don't need these since people kind of need to learn redstone circuitry. I find that placeable circuits would only take away project values, and bring up less of a learning curve placing a block rather than trying to fit a whole carpet of redstone under your basement for the door. However I think it's a great idea, although it takes the fun out of using your head.
As tastybunns said, part of the challenge of redstone it to make what you want to make within a limited space. Sure, single block circuits would let people make bigger, better things, but it feels way to 'mod-ish' to me. I'd much prefer to stick to traditional redstone and just need to work things out in different ways.
There isn't just about circuits clocks can be useful not clocks like wall clock but pulsers and maybe you think this is complex and change minecraft game to increased computer but there can be simple like xor gates(maybe now not great name for block in minecraft)use it for make simple things with it like door with lever inside and outside and house any changed lever will change condition of door.Almost everyone can make simple piston door(hidden with 6 pistons f.e.) but 60%/80% actually knows how it work.Players who wants enjoy in game need sometnig can easy to make i dont think you with that block you need make a computer ,memory or similar...You now can try and spend a lot a time to finish a simple creation find mistakes but
somoene can't do that => somoene increases criteria of minecarft => somoene stop play => and this is forum to make more players but somoene can just place block for xor gate if that somoene can learn piston door by heart
then can to learn for what is xor door (two inputs are diffrent-simple) .
So i maybe i was wrong about simple gates like INVERT or OR(or gate) but complex gates xor gate can be setuped or what so can be like XNOR or else.
Now in 1.9 there is "Unconditional" mode. and "Conditional" mode ,always Active/Needs Redstone,Impulse/Chain/Repeat and that also "feels way to 'mod-ish' to me." but one conditional ,impulse chain (or what all there is)can be in one RC BLOCK with that options(is not the same at all but...you got point) and one clock block .There cant be just gates clocks and "conditional"s can be something to just make commands be maked in survival like detector ,signals, transfer redstone signal a cross (like X forward with backward, and left with right )and similar.I think this is simple useful easy to work with it(even for minecraft programmers)
Having to build something like an XOR gate vs having one in a single block doesn't really negate the need to learn and understand circuitry. The logic process is still there. You still need to understand how it works in order to use it. Playing a bad game of tetris is not what makes redstone interesting and fun.

The point what i want to say if somoene can make creation e.g. hidden piston door but don't understand how it work that can be simplified in one block.
I don't think that this should be added; I made a similar post long ago. The critics told me that these redstone circuts really didn't take up that much space, and that preserving a few blocks of space isn't worth adding an entirely new compact block. Also, as Mister_Mystery_ said, adding circut blocks seems kind of moddy.

For the average user, yeah, it would save a few blocks, but for those that do those complex setups, a few blocks per logic gate would add up to a ton of space which could be used for more complex mechanics.
Also, the convenience of being able to get some simple logic in a space that otherwise would not be possible makes building things that much more flexible.

I think the pre-existing Project Red mod base should be added in, or perhaps the entirety of the mod, though it is quite large, I deleted all but mechanisms and base for my private mod-pack, & I absolutely love the mod, it makes redstone so much easier to conceal, also I think the Pistronics 2 mod should be added because it makes building big movement projects much easier, though they should be harder to make, using nether quartz blocks perhaps.

Well IMHO this just suck eggs big time.
Sure if you make A HUGE castle having thta ONE door at the entrance be automated because you put a 10x15 room under it, ok. that is how big I needed to have a stone door that I could open from BOTH sides and that stayed open for 5 seconds before closing (because Mojang is too stupid to make buttons last a reasonable amount of time so all the doors constantly kick back closed right in your face so fun).
Now let me see YOU try to make a 4 story modenr-style manor with EVERY door inb EVERY room automated. Not only the doors, but the lights too. Also, a wall is NOT to be build a whopping 10 foot thick. We're talking normal sized room here, using nomal sized furniture, not something built for giants ! Ok, for walls and floors, I'm going to let it slide and let you use 1 meter thick walls and floors, even if we all know that in a modern manor most walls and floors should be much thinner than that !
Heh, big surprise, I knew it, it's impossible you just can't do it right ?
So yeah we do need more compact circuitry. Maybe not "easy" already made up components, but definitely something COMPACT.
IMHO Redstone chould be compactable like this:
You first craft a special "Empty Redstone Circuit" block. This stacks to 64. Should not be too cheap (and not super costly so no fiamond blocks here). Then you place it. For the cost, it really shouldn't be too cheap. I suggest this:
Then a special "redstone magical" item (below) lets you ENTER "inside" that block. You are then in a separate "dimension" that is only 16x16x16 blocks big. The six walls (including top and bottom) are indestructible border-like blocks. Optionally, ONE of the side walls is differently colored, indicating the "main side". Purely for helping you navigate inside better. Optionally, the walls are trasparent and you still see the overworld "outside", greatly magnified to x16 size of course, but you see that only up to a few "big overworld blocks" away.
You can place only a limited number of blocks in there, can jump higher than normal and can't take fall damage in there. Any blocks are ok, but zero kind of containers or special GUI items can be placed (door or redstone lamp ok, but chests, flower pot, crafting table, furnace, bed, hopper, etc -- basically any item that can accept another item, is forbidden). The entire inside of the room is always at light level 15.
Each of the four walls is considered redstone-signal connecting to the outside. So you can build a big circuit here, using the SAME redstone strucutre and logic as when you do it the outside, with 6 "ways" to connect it to the ouside (N S E W + up and down). Optionally, maybe a wall can be connected to only ONCE inside, in case it's too complicated to code the logic for having several redstone stuff connecting to the same wall.
Using the same special item you can exit from that circuit room (you can also use a command even with cheats disabled so that you don't risk getting stuck in there). The wall you are looking at determines which way you exit. If the next block in the '"real" overworld is also another compact-redstone-ciruit block, then you immediately move in there instead of going out. If you target a wall leading to solid obstacle, the game tries to lead you to a free exit instead. If all directiond are blocked, you are thrown out anyway and will probably take suffocation damage if you can't dig yourself out.
If you break your circuit block, the content STAYS intact inside it. If you want to get back the content you have to go inside and break it yourself OR drop the circuit on the ground as a floating itemm then when it despawns after 5 minutes, all the content drops. Destroying the circuit with an explosion or lava will also "explode" it harmlessly dropping the entire circuit content all around.
Any non-empty circuit block becomes a "Circuit Block" that doesn't stack. Highly recommended to rename each circuit otherwise you have to place it and go inside to check out what it is.
When replacing, the orientation is important: top and bottom will always stay the top and bottom respectively, but your facing will determine which side is the "internal main side".
Second, we also need compact "lines of redstone dust" so that house walls can remain 1 thick.
When placed, it counts as redstone dust for signal propagation.
Redstone magical item:
(same row) Redstone block, gold ingot, redstone block = Redstone Glasses. Uses the head slot.
When worn:
- All redstoned doubleslabs appear with a red shading.
- Right-clicking on a redstone-circuit side while holding a redstone block allows player to enter inside the redstone circuit room.
- Right-clicking on a redstone-circuit wall while holding a redstone block allows player to exit the redstone circuit room towards the room's wall that is in the player sight direction. If that side is another redstone crcuit, player goes directly to the other room. If walled clicked side is a full obstacle block, game tryies to exit player to a free side instead (if possible).
These 3 things would allow even small sized houses to have all kinds of interesting redstone automation in them. The purpose of compact redstone WITHOUT too easy use of redstone would be filled.
It sounds like dimension mod with redstone transmission, and think you need save 4096 blocks in each block,my blocks(not really mine) are used for better visibility and easy error finding when you have that blocks you cant see interior of other blocks inside other "magic blocks" and outside.
And your idea sounds a bit Magic and its more compressed than compact.
I definitely support this. Redstone should be more compact in my opinion, it takes up too much space and would make builds more realistic if it was smaller.
Because command blocks have many options ,now it can be setted to act role of RC block(type:AND ,input1:WEST,input2:EAST,output:UP) if you prefer only creative.
Every time when I make redstone creations or similar things
i need 2*2*2 or much more depending on the redstone circuit.
--
|<--Output
2.And gate
have two inputs and one output same as other gates
output is on only if input A(1) and input B(2) is ON
...
and there is gate questions
A IMPLIES B If A is on, is B also on?
There can be block for each OR one with options to change.
Also there is clocks:
clock have precisely setup to send redstone signal of 1ms(1s/1000) to 1 day(24 hours) .
these clock are helpful because they aren't take up big space and work precise.
Seems a little conspicuous, but I feel we don't need these since people kind of need to learn redstone circuitry.
