So, you call this update the "Combat Update," but you only added two things:
Dual Wielding,
New Potions,
New Arrows, annnddddddd....
Shields.
Theses two things are the only things you ADDED (Note, not changed) into the game. For PvP.
For once, you disappoint me, Mojang.
Today, I'm suggesting Dual-Wield Combos. If you have either axes or swords in both of your hands, a bar will appear on either on top of your crossbar thing, or on the left of your hotbar.
Sword: Sword Spin: You put your arms out, and spin. Great for crowd control.
Axes: Flurry: You flail your arms in a similar fashion to the old style of walking in the really old days. Damages very quickly, like the ol' spam-clicking. Also to shut the people who complain about spam-clicking being removed. Each hit does only 3 damage, though.
Seems reasonable... kind of. I strongly object to the Axe Flurry, as it defeats the purpose of why spam-clicking was removed. Also, this doesn't make much sense, due to the fact that axes are the slowest swinging weapon since 1.9, yet we swing at lightning fast speed when holding two of them. Finally, since axes now deal more damage than swords, this power combined with spam-clicking speed would make a player much too powerful. Also, I don't think that there should only be combos for only 2 types of weapon. If there are going to be any combo attacks, there should be combos for all types of weapons. Lastly, I fail to see much need for dual-wielding combos when we already have new "special attacks" for the sword, such as the sweep attack, which I would prefer to see more of, but for all tools (ie: "Reaper Attack" or something like that for the hoe, etc).
For starters, this seems more like a rant than an actual suggestion, but that's only because you end up suggesting something at the end. Secondly, whether you like it or not, the changes 1.9 bring are here to say. What you're suggesting is almost going against what 1.9 is trying to do. These attacks sound and are described to be overpowered. Not to mention is lacking in information in how it's activated, how much damage does it do, and generally how it works.
I'm more concerned over the Axes Flurry. It doesn't matter if people complain about spam-clicking being removed, this still contradicts what the update is trying to do. People will complain, yes, but change is for the better.
Lastly, more skill is involved in the combat update, especially with the short duration in clicks, it adds more to focus on your defense and agility rather than just running in and going berserk under the consumption of a Golden Apple, which will end up being a rather bad last resort. Because before 1.9, the only 'skills' involved achieving overpowered tools and armour and who could click the fastest.
Dual wielding, shields, sweeping, weapon cooldown, lingering potions, potion arrows, glowstone arrows, changed damage, de-OPed armor, and much much more.

So let's remove spam-clicking but add spam-clicking? Yeah no. "Let's stop people complaining" is a stupid reason to make a change to the game. Add something because it's good, not to "shut people upp!!!"
This looks like more of an angry rant thread.

Yeah, that guy in the avatar is me. I'm *that* strange. It happens. Sometimes people act like that. Just go with it. I can offer help with suggestions even before you post them - NOT make your suggestions - but help you with them.

I heavily nerfed the damage, so It's more for knockback than anything else.

I just took the Minecraft Noob test! Check out what I scored. Think you can beat me?!

Tweaking the damage won't do anything, and also makes that idea a "Less X, more Y" thing. There's a very good reason why 1.9 won't have spam clicking. It shouldn't be stealthily reimplemented. That is senseless beyond words.
