Well, the little green arrow button under the original post says 47, and the poll from a few months ago has 67 votes, and there is roughly (this is an estimation) 130 people who have said support in the comments.
So the number is somewhere between 130-230ish.
That is not the exact number, but probably pretty close.

Like the Idea---super cool way to add some variety to the Mesa Biome. The Amber is a nice block update too.
I'm wondering, is there a way to incorporate even *more* treasure? Perhaps another type of diamond like material, like *rubies* or Dragonstone maybe?
Just like the Ocean Monument, which features some pretty nice Gold Block treasures---it would be really nice if there was something hidden in the Ant bases, like some diamond blocks, or a new block feature.
I like the idea a lot! It would make mesas a lot better, seeing as they are pretty flat and boring at the moment.
My only problem has to do with the base "feel" of it. At least to me, Minecraft seems like a game that is either completely cliche, or completely original. They have Zombies and Skeletons and Witches, blobs of slime, blobs of lava, and Giant spiders. Which are all incredibly cliche. (just look at Hotel Trasylvania. They are a good example of being really cliche and still being interesting. You can find all of those in their Hotel (though the spider is a big bigger than Minecrafts))
And then they have Endermen, Creepers, ghasts, zomie-pigmen.... all of which are totally original.
... maybe a DIY example
If you were to imagine a monster convention, most people (I hope. I'm not usually the kind of person so say "most people think", but I feel pretty safe with this one.) most people would think of the cliche monsters in minecraft. Zombies, Witches, Skeletons, Blobs, ect.
But not Giant Ants. Those are a bit more specific than anything else. And I imagine if one DID come to the convention, it would bring a ton of friends cause ants are social insects. Giant ants are a thing, but they aren't a common thing.
....
Its hard to explain a feel of an opinion.
Just remember that this is MY personal opinion, and I don't essentially agree with myself sometimes....
Yeah. I would actually love it if this made it, cause it would open the doors to more ideas that are uncommon. I just feel like it doesn't quite fit with the current theme.
....
I give full, hopeful support. I'll just finish this complicated thought with that.
I completely understand what you're saying, but I actually like if Minecraft had a few really specific mobs. I feel like it contrasts the theme in a weird way that's actually interesting. But that's just my opinion, and I'm glad you support this anyway.

Timeless Modding is kinda dead but idk what to put here now
After a lot of thought, I have decided to scrap the "spitting ant" idea, and any other additional ant. Honestly, if an idea starts getting too big and complicated and tiered, it also gets too specialized and therefor harder to agree with. I'll work on making the format of this post a little better, then see if I can make any other ideas.
Thanks for the support! I also extended the poll too!

No. It already has the ant queens. It doesn't need a boss that is only added as a reference/joke.

Finally! A use for bane of arthropods! Even though I can just use sharpness, does bane of arphropods do more damage to bugs than sharpness?
Bane of Artropods deals more damage than sharpness to insects, but since they have low health anyway, sharpness is all you need to 1-shot them thats why i think its trash. In 1.8 BoA got buffed, now it also gives slowness to the bugs. But still its not needed since you 1-shot them. At least smite has an use, which is to be more effective versus the wither (and in the nether, since most of the nether mobs are undead)
full support. like the new dungeon.
So...how many supporters do we even HAVE???

Okay, thanks
I fully support this.
Like what other people stated, it would make the mesa biome more interesting.
Also these ant dungeons seem fun to explore.

I occasionally make textures/models for random people. Contributed to: Tinker's Construct, Growthcraft, and Animals+
PixelQuest 2, my new 1.10 RPG/rougelike-inspired modpack, is coming soon!

If you like threads about mobs, then my threads are mainly about that: http://www.minecraftforum.net/members/AGmantheAG/threads
I think so, but you could always check the minecraft wiki.
This also needs the rare boss "Ant Lion" in a pit. Seriously.

Yo, this is a really cool concept for a dungeon! Support
I think someone should mention this thread on the minecraft subreddit. I hear the developers go there instead of these forums.

i've heard that too. You should really do that, Josh. Hopefully (nah, definitely) they'll see it.
