Let's say you have 30 XP. Then when you have your guard down, a Creeper comes and blows you to smithereens. You get your stuff back, but your XP is halfed. What can we do to prevent that from happening? Nothing, you just have to make sure you don't die, which is pretty hard without goofing up and getting killed by falling from a high place. So I propose to store XP!
How to Do It: You just got some XP. What will you do to store it? Make an awkward potion, and then shift+right click, and boom! You have a Bottle O Enchanting, with the number of levels (With a decimal for the specific amount) displayed in your inventory. Now you can safely store and save up your experience, and then you'll have plenty of it when you need it!
Obviously, when you need to use your XP, just use the bottle like normal and it will give the amount of XP that was stored in it.
So that's about it. Pretty simple, but I believe many would find it useful.
