No.. this makes no sense. This would defeat the purpose of capes, they are meant to be special, and with this "idea"it would ruin it. Everyone and their friend would have a cape. Capes are made for Minecon and other special events, nothing else. Really though.. why is this even a post
Capes are an exclusive perk for people who turn up to Minecon, or other Mojang hosted events. I can already imagine the thousands of disappointed Minecon attendees if this was implemented.
If you really feel inclined to a cape, donate to OptiFine, or go to Minecon. No support.
I don't support this idea, capes are meant to be a special thing given out to users who have earned them. (Attending Minecon, developing the game, helping with translating to other languages, wining scrolls tournaments, recently they gave out capes to moderators on the bug tracker software). If a cape option were to be added, it would completely undermine the concept. If you would like a cape yourself, you can buy one by donating to popular mods (like optifine) or by adding one into your own mods. You could alternatively use a publicly available cape mod, or use a banner as a cape in 1.8.

I see failures under a tree aka the Online dater owners who have the marry plugin because they're loners and cant get a real girlfriend or boyfriend because they apparently are inmature 16 year olds to under stand what a real girlfriend in because they sit in their room online dating on roblox or minecraft with some 8 year old girl and the boy being 18. online daters are excuses.
What do you mean by "premium minecraft account" For one, non premium accounts are cracked, and two, if you can crack the whole game, it wouldn't be hard to find the data to get capes in cracked versions if they are implemented in the standard game.
This just ruins the idea of capes, now that everyone would have one. In fact, it would even hurt people who went to Mine Con or donated to Optifine, only to realize theres a free version of it. Capes are not meant to be given to everyday people, and frankly, theres nothing special about them unless you have a deep desperation to envy a virtual cape that flaps around the back of your player. Either donate to Optifine or go to Minecon, don't beg for one.
I think we should be able to upload a custom cape.BUT.Only if you have a premium Minecraft account.
Because of 1.8,we now have a "Alex" model with 3 pixel thin arms.
So for 1.9,we should have a "Upload Cape" option.
