A rather simple suggestion: Redstone ore should emit a redstone signal when a comparator is attached to it and it is in its "glowing" state. This would eliminate the need for a BUD to detect this action. I honestly don't know why this doesn't exist already.

Why? Is it that difficult to use a BUD switch to detect it?

put a sunlight detector below it, and it will also give out an output.

Redstone Ore should simply emit a redstone signal (maybe not at level 15) anytime it is glowing - no ned for that comparator thing IMHO.
That sounds good. I support this person's suggestion a bit more than the OP's.
But still, support.
