So while I was working on stuff, I though dye blocks would be another idea to maybe make decoration. So how to make them would be putting dye in a 2x2 shape, and that would give you the dye block. (Lapis would still be 3x3, and is also able to make stairs and slabs) They can be made into stairs & slabs, and can be made into wallpaper, which can be placed on walls. The wallpaper will not stop the levers, buttons, etc from being placed, so that's a thing.
Wallpaper can be used kinda like the covers from the ForgeMicroblocks. One wallpaper will fill up 16x1 or 1x16, however you place it. It could take up to 16 wallpapers per block.
Idea: If you walk on the dye block while wearing leather armor, the armor will slowly change color.
I actually sort of like this idea, though there is a certain dye block that already has a texture, technically... Lapis Lazuli blocks! So if these were added in, does this mean there would be Rose Red blocks, Bonemeal Blocks, Inc Sac blocks(how would that work?), Cyan Blocks... etc.? Is this what you mean? Also, the leather armor changing color doesn't make any sense and would probably be annoying if you had some specifically colored leather and were walking along your dye-block path or flooring.
Overall, 50% Support! I like the idea of dye blocks. They give more accurate color options while not being awfully-textured wool, and wallpaper, which i'm assuming would work just like carpet and would be an excellent addition. It could work just like item frames, which are wonderfully designed to stay in the same block as a transparent block.
Are you asking 15 new blocks, 16 new stairs, 16 new slabs, and 16 wallpapers?Yup!
Do you intend wallpaper to be able to have levers and switches on them?Yes I do
Do you realize that clay/wool and banners already help to add colour to things?Yes, I just wanted dyes to have a decoration block & a storage block.
Trust me, I think this can be good idea for some of the dyes, but I don't think that ink sacks even if really sticky could ever make for good stairs. Two words, Mine, and Craft.
I felt bold writing this. Overall, I answered the questions you asked, but Ink Sac Blocks wouldn't stain the floors because this is not a realistic game. That would mean that if you would've fallen into wool if this game was realistic.
I respect your comment good sir.

Thank you for answering my questions! They are in fact asked for you to have a more complete original post.
By storage block, do you mean the dyes turned into block? If so alright, good idea, at first sight I thought you meant something like a chest.
About stairs and slabs, I really feel like it should be the case, but that means adding quite a fair bit of blocks, considering 1 id of stair blocks can only have 2 different textures, 1 id of slabs 4 different textures, and 1 id for every wallpaper (as they should be like vine, where data value are flags for all four directions).
About wallpaper, at the moment the game engine would not allow both a wallpaper and a lever on the same block BUT I believe that similarly to glass panels, if a lever is surrounded by wallpaper they should be able to stitch around graciously with a little bit more calculation that could be turned off. As much as I like to think it though though, an inset corner can't have two different wallpapers.
If you could please update your original post to add more details, it would make people more likely to post, keep the thread alive and, hopefully, have it added.
This actually sounds awesome. No need for these to slowly troll leather armor though.
