In a total of around 80 specific biome colors I have gathered 50 of them, The rest being unnecessary for this thread.
The highlighted biomes are the ones being used:
(sorry, as snipping tool failed to work will edit this tomorrow)
All the highlighted biomes in order from up to down follow a number sequence. Just the simple one like 1,2,3,4 etc. So ocean = 01, plains = 02 and mesa plateau M = 50. If you want to spawn on a mushroom island, Then you put in the seed box any numbers you like as long as the first 2 numbers are 11. The seed can be "11", it can be "11568" or it can be "1156874". Ether seed will be different, but will still spawn you on a mushroom biome. This goes for any of the highlighted biomes as well.
Seeds would have to be configured differently, and would require a new set of seed coding. I don't see how this could not be possible to implement. Please give any concerns as I am not a minecraft seed wiz.
While the idea would be nice, it might be difficult to implement, as due to the way the seeds work... I would imagine most seeds starting with a plains/forest ID. Although I can see this gaining the ability to ruin the rarity of biomes such as Mushroom biomes.
Partial support, though.
Get the world seed before the generation, turn it into a string (text), substring it by 2 characters (remove first 2 numbers in a string), return the modified seed and set that as the default seed, and by using substring you could get the first 2 characters too and then set the original biome, this would be especially easy since 1.8, because you have custom world generation.
So i Full Support!
I feel like this would greatly limit the variety of seeds available. It would also make your spawn a little too predicatble. No support, sorry.
The variety of seeds would have no effect from this. Also, if you don't want your spawn to be predictable, make sure the first number of your seed is 6-9 as it would generate randomly.
Awesome idea, but something like this would be "too late" to implement.
I personally wouldn't be affected, but it would change the familiarity with most seeds because land generation would need a complete rework with this. For example, using the seed "01999282472" might not generate that desired island anymore, because it would spawn you in some plains. And I think it ruins the point of survival if you can just choose your biome like that.
This sort of thing sounds perfect for the "Customized" world though.

Yeah, that guy in the avatar is me. I'm *that* strange. It happens. Sometimes people act like that. Just go with it. I can offer help with suggestions even before you post them - NOT make your suggestions - but help you with them.
I guess that all phrases starting with M like "Mango Jango" would give the same starting biome, whichever it would be, making as EnderCreeper says too much predictability.
Unfortunately, no support.

Eh I'm not really a big fan. Plus there are easier ways this could be done that requires less work. Just give them a "Starting Biome" option in Customized, and then the world generates normally but puts the world spawn at the closest biome of that type to 0,0.

I'm not really a fan of this idea, hence the seeds being "random" I would like to keep it that way, so you never know what you'll get...kinda like a box of chocolates.
