Minecraft is not medieval-themed!!! As a matter of fact, it doesn't have a set time. And when and WHY did putting reponses in the quote, especially long ones, become a trend in the Suggestions? It's rather inconvenient, mainly since the OP has to gather your quote up manually. Avatar made by Endergirl!
I thought that using a poll for support/no support was a bad idea, due to the fact that it lets critics be lazier, as well as let the thread die out more easily, so I closed the poll. Also, providing concept art for the mobs would be appreciated!

Raw/Fried Squid Idea: Whenever a squid dies, it will drop raw squid, or, if burned to death, fried squid. Raw squid will restore 2 hunger bars, and a fried squid will restore 5 hunger bars. Fried squid can also be obtained through baking in the furnace. Raw squid can also be used to tame a guardian, as well as breeding. I like the squid meat, but not the taming guardians
Small idea for tameable/breedable squids: You can tame a squid with cod, salmon, pufferfish, and clownfish as well as breed one. Breeding 2 squids with any type of fish will produce a baby squid. The purpose of this, is to have a legitimate way to not have a short supply of squids, after killing them for food. No support for taming squid. Squids are mostly asthetic
More ideas for squids: Tentacles: You can craft 8 tentacles, by putting 1 raw squid into the crafting area. Eating 2 tentacles will restore half a hunger bar. Golden tentacles can be crafted, by putting 1 tentacle in the middle of the crafting table, in between 4 gold nuggets. Golden tentacles will restore 2 hunger bars. Both tentacles can be used for taming/breeding adult guardians. You can also fry tentacles in the furnace, which will give you calamari. Calamari will restore 1.5 hunger bars. Squids will only spawn naturally in the ocean, for the sake of realism. I'm not saying that everything in minecraft should be realistic, but I figured that minecraft should show a few aspects of realism. I mean seriously, squids naturally spawning on a pond? That's just plain silly! Squids' spawn rates will be reduced to a moderate level, since their spawn rate is incredibly fast. I liek the spawning changes, but i'd only want ONE sort of squid meat. squid meat OR calamari
Baby Guardian Idea: There are baby versions of a lot of mobs, and I think that there should be a baby version of the guardian. Unlike most baby mobs, the head of the guardian will not be the exact same size, and it will feature a circular eye, without the unibrow. Tamed adult guardians will feature the same eye texture as the baby guardian. The baby guardian will have the same sounds as the adult guardian, only about 50% more high pitched. Baby guardians will be more agile than the adult guardians. Tamed guardians, as well as baby guardians acquired through breeding, can be used as defense, just like tamed wolves/ baby wolves acquired through breeding. Hostile mobs shouldn't have babies, in my opinion. Only zombies, because zombies are just dead humans.
More ideas for guardians: Once you have a tamed guardian, you can put guardian armor on them, so that they become less vulnerable to attacks from neutral/hostile mobs. Choices are: Iron, gold, diamond, and ruby guardian armor. Like horse armor, these are only found in naturally generated structures, and they cannot be crafted. Taming a hostile? This isn't right.
Visible Fish: Fish will (finally) spawn in water, rather than merely being items that can only be obtained with a fishing rod or cheats. They can also be bred with tall grass. Pufferfish: Pufferfish will spawn in the lower levels of oceans, and will defend themselves by puffing up. Whenever a mob/player tries to hurt them, they will hurt the player/mob with their spikes. Pufferfish have 4 hearts of health. Salmon: Salmon will spawn in oceans, ponds, and rivers. Salmon will attempt to bite you, if you try to hurt them. Each salmon bite does 0.1 hearts worth of damage to a player without any armor. Salmon have 3 hearts of health. "Fish": Fish spawn in oceans, ponds, and rivers. Fish have 3 hearts of health, and don't defend themselves. Clownfish: Clownfish spawn in the oceans, and have 3 hearts of health. I like this
Sharks: Introducing... sharks! Seven sharks will spawn per ocean chunk. You know how sharks can sense blood from far away? If the player is located in the ocean, and the player has 9 hearts or less, the shark will sense that from up to 45 blocks away, and it will try to attack you. Shark bites will do 2.5 hearts of damage on easy, 4 hearts worth of damage on normal, and 6 hearts of damage on easy. However, their attack damage can be avoided on peaceful. You can breed/tame them with raw meat. Sharks have 19 hearts of health, and wild sharks are neutral mobs. When killing a shark, you will obtain 2-5 experience points, as well as raw shark, unless it burned to death. Fried shark can be obtained through burning a shark, or frying raw shark in the furnace. Raw shark restores 2.5 hunger bars, while fried shark restores 6 hunger bars.I like it.
Submit your opinion in the poll above, and/or let me know with a reply! And, by the way, if you liked all of these, please don't mark all of the choices that start with "I just". Instead, mark the one on the top that says: "Yes! I want all of these added to minecraft!", so I can get a better understanding of the poll, since I'm the one who created it. Also, the reason I chose squids for guardians, instead of chicken, is because that's the only mob they prey on.
The squid taming/breeding thing is for farming squid meat. I was thinking of having tamable/breed-able guardians, because they are guardians, not temple guardians in specific, also because I wanted for them to have other uses besides dropping easily obtainable fish and some aesthetic block, and I imagined how cute they would be as baby guardians. And hey, can't we tame zombie villagers with weakness potions and golden apples? Also, what's wrong with the calamari/tentacles (They are needed as an easy way (sorta) when you don't want to waste your entire squid on healing guardians)? But I will remove the golden calamari if I can't think of any special uses. Anyways, thanks for the feedback!

It seems that half of this thread goes by this train of thought:
Squids spawn to often
Make squids rarer
Squids are too rare
Allow breeding
I mean, we don't tame chickens or pigs and can breed those. We don't need to tame squids at all, really, other than to make them easier to farm, thus solving a problem that you implemented yourself. Just don't implement the problem, squid spawning is fine. But somehow you think squid taming is necessary as a result of this chain of events, simply because you think squid spawning should be more realistic. That's a key word, and we don't like it here. Tut tut.
Also, you haven't talked much about what the tamed guardians do. I'd like a little more explanation. No support for now. Some of the additions are pointless and it feels a little wish list-y. While the mobs are loosely tied together, they don't really affect each other in any meaningful way for the most part.
I nerfed shark spawn. This thread was written more than 5 months ago, when I didn't even know how small chunks are. Oh, and I removed the ability to tame squids, but they will still follow you if you have those things in your hand.

It's summer in a little more than a month.
At least in the northern hemisphere.

Wait what?

Agreed, that's silly. You're suggesting a shark spawn for every 2-3 blocks of ocean here.
