Because Minecraft Java has completely moved over to using the Loom for Banners, I have rewritten my thread to accommodate that change. But with that, I have also added some new functionality. Changes:
1. Images updated to use the Loom GUI rather than a Crafting Grid
2. Loom GUI modified to accommodate the changes
3. Item Prints now use Item Frames rather than Paper, as Banner Patterns are made by combining Paper with Items
4. You can flip Item Prints horizontally, vertically, or rotate them 90 degrees.

Dwarf gamer found:
Buildings - square, not round
Materials - from rubble mound
Dark caves - lit 'n' cleaned out
Settlements - deep underground
Farmability - to grinder bound
Shields - made creepers but sound
Axes and crossbows - taking mobs out
Though I do think that it should be possible to rotate items 45°, so it would be possible to make (say) a sword pointing upwards.
I thought about making it able to rotate any amount, but I thought it might cause it to look weird because you would have partially rotated images over a straight banner and thought the angled pixels over straight pixels might be too much out of Minecraft's style. I'm totally up for changing it if people want that though.

I think this would make banner customization even cooler than it is now, especially if you could transfer it to shields.

Dang, you've continued working on this after like 6 years? Respect, and full support.
You should honestly post this to the minecraftsuggestions subreddit.

My suggestions: Enhancements - Throwable Fire Charges - On Phantoms and Elytra. Also check out The Minecraftian Language. This signature is not here to waste your space.
