Some of the drop ideas are still up for debate. For example, the slime probably isn't going to drop bedrock.
Oh, wait... I was going to update that. Sorry. Thanks for reminding me.
Edit: Okay, updated. Instead of the hated craftable bedrock (I think it could work, but I understand everyone's fears), the slime gives you the ability to craft tools and armor out of slime, which is at least as cool as it sounds.
Oh, and if you're thinking "but I never get any slime balls", keep in mind that you just killed a giant slime and its minions. You have plenty.
The ability for the player to walk on walls/ceilings would be really confusing.
The yeti's ice skates could make it so that any water you step on instantly becomes ice. It would lose durability for every block of ice it created.
I still want to fit in the hunter's bow somewhere.
Edit: Maybe slime armor could reduce fall damage because of it's bounciness? The boots and helm would allow you to fall an extra block before taking damage each. The pants and chest would give you 1.5 each. This would make it so you could fall an extra 5 blocks before taking damage. You cold then fall 8 blocks without taking damage. However, the armor would be absorbing the fall damage so its durabillity would be damaged from this effect.

Yes it would be confusing, but still really cool.
I like the ice-skates idea of freezing. I think I'll add it.
I'm not sure I understand the hunter bow. Is it basically just a slow bow with more precision, or am I missing something? If that's all it is, it's basically just a bow that fires weakened wurm arrows.
I'm personally under the belief that the bow should be slowed down, but that's not what this thread is about.

The main point of the hunter's bow was that you could take out enemy's from far away without making the regular bow obsolete.
I think the necromancer sounds a little too easy, because if you go to the village during the day, you can set up your torches around the spawners. However, I like that this adds timing and strategy, so that's fine. But I think the Necromancer should have the ability to spawn a zombie 4 blocks away from you as you chase him down.
Nice way of phrasing the last poll question.
Also make a poll that includes "Should be moved to the Mapping and Modding section of the forums."
I'm serious.
A modding API is scheduled for very soon.

I agree with you. The necromancer should have some way of getting rid of torches, but you should still be able to stealthily take out the mob spawners. Two ideas I have for this: (tell me which you prefer)
1: every night, when he spawns, all torches in the town are broken instantly
or
2: during the night, instead of blindly running around, he runs from house to house destroying torches.
either way, you should be able to employ stealth, either by putting the torches up after night fall, or making sure no one gets in to the house.

Fine. I added it.
However, I think that if we submit all the good ideas to modders, it doesn't give notch anything to do. We should have faith in his ability to incorporate good ideas.
And I think this idea fits into minecraft without mods. If dungeons fit in, this does too.
This sounds like a good idea! There's just something's that... I wouldn't think to see in Minecraft.
Such as, flying bosses, or tentacles coming out of an obsidian ring. Just my opinion though.

The obsidian ring would not be mineable and I think the temple would disappear 10 seconds after the fight is over. This makes it so you can't get materials for it.
Edit: More ideas for slime boss.
The tools would only return the amount of slimeballs used to make it -1. hoe and sword would return one. axe and pickaxe would return 2. shovel would return 0. To prevent the armor from being able to be remade without any additional slimeballs, the boots should only return 2, the helm should return 3, the pants should return 4 and the chest should return 5. A new slime recipe would be slime soup. You melt a slimeblock in the furnace and you get slime juice. Put slime juice above a bowl in the crafting table and you get slime soup. It heals for 2.5 hearts per use and can be used twice. After you use it both times, the bowl is destroyed because of the sliminess. This forces you to make more bowls. (unlike what mushroom soup does).
Herobrine would make an extremely good boss IMO. Herobrine should be the hardest. Without question.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Wrong sir, wrong. YOU stole the fizzy lifting drinks and YOU touched the ceiling, therefor it must be washed and sterilized! So you get nothing! You lose! Good day sir!
I personally vote no for curse of the creeper. It just seems kind of awkward for a boss fight. Also, maybe the pyromancer's arrows could light the block it hits on fire and all of the blocks touching it. My reason for this is because if it hits a wall behind you, you are dead no matter what.
Edit: Nevermind. I'm an idiot.
I forgot you could just place a block on the source block.
However, the recipe should be improved a bit. Using a lava bucket is a pretty high cost for an arrow. No arrow should cost some ridicously crazy amount.
Maybe instead of an arrow, he could drop flame resistant armor? helm and boots reduce damage from touching lava by .5 hearts each. pants and chest reduce it by 1 heart each. A full set would make it so you would only take 2 damage per second while in lava. It would also make it so when lit on fire, it would only last for 8 hits (dealing only 4 hearts instead of 7.5). However, the armor would not decrease damage from any other sources. It would have the durability of gold armor. (halfway between leather and iron.)

please explain what you dislike about the creeper. I personally love its contrast to the other boss battles, but what I like isn't what's most important here, it's what the majority likes.
and about the lava arrow recipe, yes it's expensive, but think about how powerful it is, especially against other bosses. you could clear out a whole swarm of enemies from afar. think of it as attatching an arrow to your lava bucket to use it at a distance, and the impact destroys the bucket.
It follows you around. I don't want my mob traps or houses or cannons getting blown up randomly. You can't kill it either because it just disappears. The drop is great though. I just think that 5 tnt is too much. If you switch it to the regular tnt recipe but with a tnt in the center, then it would be fine. Also, maybe not 8 times the power. That just destroys too much. Maybe four times the power? The item probably shouldn't be called nuke either but that's a small detail.
Idea for creeper:
Circular arena made out of stone 'flooded' with water one block deep. a 3x3 pedestal also made out of stone is in the center. You walk up to it and there is a sign that says "oops". The pedestal has pressure plates all over it. Stepping on them blows up some tnt embedded in the walls and opens up holes revealing creepers. A black one is directly across from the sign. Upon being hit, he teleports 10 blocks behind you. He would have 10 health. There would be 8-14 additional creepers helping him.
Ok. I like the idea for the lava recipe now.
Edit: the bat thing sounds really complex for one item.
For Vampire:
Total darkness isn't really fair. Maybe the tower could be open to the sky? Also, zombie spawners on every floor? I've tried to do a map where someone did that. It wasn't fun. By the time I had killed two, three more had already spawned.
This sounds like a good idea! There's just something's that... I wouldn't think to see in Minecraft.

Flying bosses doesn't seem too weird, since the game already has ghasts and Notch has mentioned a future addition of flying mobs, but I kind of see what you mean about the tentacles.
I think that yes, it's a change, but people will get used to it very quickly. If we only do predictable things, minecraft is basically already developed completely. Change isn't bad. There are bad changes, but you shouldn't judge something just because it's different.

Well, you're wrong about not being able to kill it. It would disappear whenever you hurt it or it explodes, and it wouldn't heal when it disappears. the game would just have to keep track of how many hit points it had left.
I got the inspiration from a certain type of horror film, where the monster, instead of being a giant monster of epic proportions (godzilla-esque), it's a demon that follows you around, appearing where you least expect it and are least ready for it. I understand your not wanting your stuff destroyed, but maybe it would make sense to make it an explosion that doesn't damage chests, dispensers, or other storage devices (don't know how cannons work, I'm assuming you're using a mod), or possibly doesn't even destroy anything. Maybe it stabs you or bites you.
Well, I understand your feelings on the nuke. What you're asking for is a scaled down version. It would cost less, and destroy less. I think that, if you're going to use a nuke, YOU HAD BETTER WANT TO BLOW STUFF UP. it would cost 5 TNT+some sulfur for the power of 8, instead of 1 TNT + some sulfur for the power of 4.
Basically, I think it should actually feel like you're using a small nuke.
Your creeper boss idea makes sense, but think about it. You're surrounded on all sides by creepers. You can only attack so fast. There is pretty much no way you can survive, unless you can tower jump really, really fast. And at that point, you'd just be randomly shooting arrows down, hoping you brought enough.
