Before I say anything else, I will let you know that I may be new to the forum, but definitely not to MineCraft.
Below, I have a few suggestions for MineCraft that could be added to MineCraft either in an official update or in a modification. The first one I spent three days making, as it is what I (and many others) want the most. As for the rest, they are merely small suggestions that may or may not be used. The first one may be a large project, but it would be worth it.
NOTE: It is split up like this for ease of reading, as it is incredibly difficult to read otherwise.
Name: Computer Player
Details: Neutral Mob
Description: A Mob that is exactly the same as a real player, except for the fact that it is controlled by Artificial Intelligence. I know several people have suggested this before, but this suggestion differs in that it is far more detailed and planned out than most others. There is an option in the Options menu that sets the chance of one spawning, default is 0%. Often spawns in allied factions of 2-8 (70% chance), but also can spawn alone (30%). Though the maximum number of faction members they can spawn with is 8, the maximum they can have in total (by inviting new members) is 16. They may form new factions, join other factions, invite members to their current faction, or leave their current faction.
Even real players can invite computer players to their faction, or be invited to a computer player's faction. Factions have leaders that are randomly picked if spawned. If a new faction is created (a player that is not a member of any faction invites another player to their faction), that player is the leader. Human players are expected to follow the leader's orders if in a computer player faction, and if the human player fails to comply too many times, the player is kicked out of the faction. If a human player is the leader of a computer player faction, then the player can give orders to the computer players via a menu. Has a randomized name usually with a random number at the end of player's experience level, and name is followed by the ID number of the faction the player is in (if any). Name example: John98 LvL1 (4) Players do not despawn. Experience level determines how good they are at performing tasks. Can chat with each other or the player. If a human or computer player approches a faction of players, the faction leader may command the members to attack (50%), invite to their faction (30%), or ignore the player (20%).
Players carry enough resources to build camps at sundown, where they wait until sunrise when they take down the camp and move on. All members of the faction get wood to make wooden pickaxes to mine stone to make stone pickaxes to mine iron ore to be smelted into iron to be made into iron swords and armour. When all of this is completed (all members have iron swords and stone pickaxes, and at least one piece of iron armour), the players get lots of wood, then find an appropriate biome to build a permanent settlement out of the wood they have and live there indefinitely. They get food by hunting until they build the settlement, in which case they get it mostly by growing wheat. They may put items in chests they make, as well as steal items from human player's and other computer player's chests. If caught stealing (player that is not from their faction approaches them while they are stealing from a chest), they either flee (70%), attack (10%), or hit-and-run (20%).
Factions can decide to have wars with other factions and human players; when this happens, the faction members will attack the enemy faction or human players. Cannot make diamond tools, but will use diamond tools if given to them. They may build 5 types of buildings: Houses, for living in, Storage Buildings, for storing items, Farms, for growing plants, Large Houses, for their leader to live in, and Barracks, for guarding their land. They build buildings depending on their needs: Houses per member of the faction, Storage Buildings for the resources they have, Farms per member of the faction, and Barracks for how often they are attacked. If a building is partially damaged, they may repair it, or if it is severely damaged, they may salvage the remaining pieces and build a new one elsewhere.
If a player is not in a faction, the player will wander around, hunting animals for food if needed. When the non-faction player encounters another non-faction player, the player might try to invite the other player (60%) and start a new faction. If the non-faction player encounters someone from another faction, the player will attempt to be invited, fleeing then trying again later if attacked by the other faction. Members sometimes decide to enter a Barracks and stay there for a while, coming out to attack enemy mobs that come near or non-member players or computer players if the leader decides to attack them.
The faction will always attack any non-member player if that player attacks them. If a member attacks (even accidentally) another faction member more than 3 times in 30 seconds, the attacking player will be kicked from the faction and attacked. There is an option in the Options menu that sets if computer players are able to attack you offensively or steal your items. If it is set to False, computer players can still attack, but only defensively. The menu which a human faction leader consists of several buttons to either give orders to a certain member of the faction or to the entire faction. The orders you can give to the entire faction are: Attack Faction [enter Faction ID here], Produce Resource [select resource], and Roam (players are free to do what they want). Orders to give to specific member: Defend (members enter Barracks, if any, or patrol around the settlement), Stand Guard (members stay where they are until enemies come near, which they attack), Produce Resource, and Roam.
If a leader of a faction is killed, then a new leader is randomly selected. If there are only 2 members in a faction and if one of them is killed, the surviving one is no longer in a faction. List of items that they can craft, steal or harvest: Crafting Table, Furnace, Chest, Planks, Wooden Hoes, Wood-Stone-Iron Swords, Wood-Stone Pickaxes, Glass, Wooden Doors, Iron, Stone, Dirt, Seeds, Wheat, Bread, Sticks.
Purpose: The main purpose of them is to simulate real players that are in Multiplayer without the many downsides of Multiplayer such as requiring an Internet connection, frequent disconnects, often more lag, too many or not enough players, and especially griefers (with the exception of the fact that computer players can steal your stuff and attack you, but there is a far lower chance of this than in Multiplayer, AND you can turn this on or off unlike Multiplayer.
Obtaining: Spawns in all biomes that have a sufficient amount of trees, Spawn Egg. When ready to build a Settlement, they move to most fairly flat biomes such as Plains or Desert.
I can't tell you how grateful I would be if you decide to add this (not to mention the many other MineCraft players that want this too). I understand that it would be a very large project, but it would be worth it!
Here are some other ideas that involve photography, which could be used in Multiplayer for advertising posters, proof of griefing, wanted" posters, etc.
Name: Camera
Details: Placeable Block, Stackable
Description: Fairly similar to taking screenshots, except considerably lower quality. Right-Clicking the camera after placing brings up a menu that has 17 slots and a shutter button. One slot allows up to 16 Film to be placed in it, and the rest allow up to 16 Undeveloped Film that collects for you to harvest. When taking a picture, it converts one Film to one Undeveloped film. Does not take colour photographs. Can be activated by RedStone power.
Purpose: To convert Film into Undeveloped Film.
Obtaining: Crafting.
Name: Film
Details: Non-Placeable item, Stackable
Description: Has no use other than to be placed in a camera. No types of film get ruined in light in the game simply for ease of use.
Purpose: To be placed in a camera to be converted to Undeveloped Film.
Obtaining: Crafting.
Name: Undeveloped Film
Details: Non-Placeable Item, Non-Stackable
Description: A picture that was taken with a camera, but not yet viewable.
Purpose: To be developed into viewable Photographs.
Obtaining: Putting Film in a Camera and taking a picture with it.
Name: Photograph
Details: Non-Placeable Item, Non-Stackable
Description: Similar to a Map. A viewable, black-and-white picture that was taken by a camera.
Purpose: To show pictures of buildings, items, or entities, mainly in Multiplayer. This has many uses such as advertising, capturing memorable moments, etc. Can be placed in an Item Frame, like a Map. Can be copied and copied from copies like Written Books.
Obtaining: Using a Film Developer on Undeveloped Film.
Name: Film Developer
Details: Placeable Block, Stackable
Description: Two slots in the menu that appears upon right-clicking, one to put Undeveloped Film in and one to harvest Photographs. Placing an Undeveloped Film in the first slot will initiate a 15-second wait time. After the wait, the Undeveloped Film will transform into a Photograph and move to the second slot to be harvested. Will only work at a very dark light level, with the exception of light from Redstone Torches.
Purpose: To develop Undeveloped Film into viewable Photographs.
Obtaining: Crafting

i like the AI players and ill give support to that but its sounds like it would lag out some ones computer if its not running good gear on it. but if on the very high chance that mojang doesnt do that then it willl make a good mod
first, this is a small wishlist, and second this whole faction thing look soooo complicated, doesn't fit in vanilla. would make a good multi player mod tho.
No support for both, not fitting at all

Top 5 priority of minecraft:
1- Finish the mod API
2- Give brains to villagers (make em more usefull)
3- Add ambiance: birds, fishes, bugs, crabs on beaches, monkeys in jungles...
4- More plants! Aquatic, any fruit tree, bushes....
Put your ideas in a spoiler, and format it better instead of a giant wall if text, then I'll try to read it.

My Avatar is a Dalek, therefor your argument is... EXTERMINATED!!!
You know who can tell me something I already know? Me. All the time. I'm really good at telling me stuff I already know. I don't need help in that department. I don't know about others, but I can't imagine I'm alone here.

These are very well-thought out ideas, but you are really suggesting two separate things: photography, and AI-driven players. Try splitting these two ideas into two separate threads, where people will have less trouble reading. This thread will probably be locked because I think it technically is a wishlist, but I would really hate to see these ideas die just because they were posted together.
Going to have to close this as a wishlist. Please make one thread for the AI players idea, and another for the photography idea.
