As I am using an Ipad, Ill be taking my time to make the banner, bjt thx for the support up to date!

It's an okay idea, but it doesn't really add anything all that important. It's a source of food and feathers, and little else; basically the same thing as a chicken except it has a better AI and might suicidally attack you if you try to eat it. It might provide "a useful source of food for beginning players", but food is really easy to obtain anyway.

Also, eventually the world will become cluttered with kiwis unless the player decides to butcher 'em. Not really liking that. No support.

So, what would you suggest to fix that? I could change it so they don't fight back, which would make sense, but I don't know how to change the breeding without turning them into EXACTLY redundant chickens.

Not because it's a bad idea, but because it just wouldn't fit inside Minecraft. A kiwi isn't a farm animal, unlike the main passive mobs, nor is it an animal that is commonly known (I would bet that a lot of the younger population are going to see it and be like, "What the heck is that!?!?")

That said. I do encourage you to put this into the Mod Requests section, because it would make a cool mod.

I support. Does it take fall damage, or does it slowly glide? Maybe it should flap its wings but fall at a normal rates. By the way, do they eats "frubs" or grubs?

And why, exactly, do we need this?

Considering Kiwis can't fly at all, I'll say no, they cannot glide. I will ad that they flap their wings when theyre falling, even though it dosent help them (Kiwi says: Help me!!! I need to evolve right now!!! I need wings!!! SMACK!) And that's grubs, I'll go edit.

Kiwi in Minecraft? Oh yeah! After all, they have ocelots already. They can be great predators. We could see how readily the kiwi survive. Could we add defensive behaviour to them, so they run away if an ocelot is within 10 blocks?

What's even more confusing to others, not only is the bird referred to simply as "kiwi" (look at that kiwi under the bush), it's both singular and plural (see all those kiwi over there). In addition us New Zealanders even refer to ourselves as "Kiwi" (Anika Moa and Dave Dobbyn are Kiwi singers). Other cultures call a Chinese gooseberry a "kiwi" (I'm looking at you Americans here). Chinese gooseberries are called "kiwifruit" here to reduce the confusion about the fruit.

Thank you, but before I email it to mojang, I want to improve the suggestion. Plenty of people still don't like it, and it isn't completely balanced, nor that different yet. One thing is, people say that a kiwi's feathers are so thick, they feel like fur. I personally would like to use that for something.

well why would mojang add such a specie bird instead of just adding birds? in mine craft things are kinda supposed to be un specific or like generic for example like.: they only have cows no bulls bulls are male cows, and they only have chickens not hens. and kiwis are only native to new zeland and praobly most player have no idea wit a kiwi is. they r cute birds though.
