Desert temples already have the TNT trap, copying the arrow traps from the jungle temples wouldn't be very creative. The desert guardian seems meh, as it seems like a mashup of the guardian's laser attack and the large iron golem.
I do think the desert temple could do with more. I mean, there's only one pressure plate (of course, stepping on it may end your chances of getting loot... or getting out alive), and judging how rare it is, I think it could do with more.
