Love the idea, please don't make the scarecrow look like an enderman

The idea was more to have the boss have the body type of an enderman. you know, tall and lanky. Maybe even like 5-6 blocks high, something really terrifying.
I understand your point of view Soul, but without the rest corn would just be another boring crop. My goal is to make something more challenging than your average stock. Would you have any alternative methods?
I support Crows, Corn, and Scarcrows but no taming the ravens or adding a raven boss
Both of these things have been changed in our mandate as you will see in the thread. What are your thoughts on the enemy scarecrow mob being spawned in a similar way?
I've always wanted corn and scarecrows in Minecraft, mostly scarecrows, as an epic deceration. Then a plus addition of scaring away crows and unsuspecting 6-13 year old children? Amazing, no more noobs on my lawn/property!
Also, maybe there should be naturally generating, abandoned corn fields, with scarecrows that can come to life and attack you much like an iron golem? It would certainly add more flavor into the game. The scarecrows would chase you all the way back to your house, and if you don't have one, he will hunt you forever >:). Or instead, make them only stay in their cornfield.
this corn idea is strange considering you boil corn. Maybe you could use a cauldron?
I had thought of this, and very much want to add it, but for the purposes of keeping this suggestion simple and do-able to increase the chances of it actually being considered, I wanted to stick with functions already in place such as the furnace.

I have heard another suggestion about this, but instead using an abandoned barn as well as a cornfield. I think this is a wonderful idea, but as for the mob-scarecrows I think it may detract from their purpose of protecting the corn from crows. To combat this I would say we get rid of the spawning in a scarecrow mob, and have the enemy mob of that type spawn only with the npc farm/corn field, how would that sound?
I think the corn isn't such a bad idea. However I wouldn't want any type of bird in Minecraft whether it's passive or hostile. After seeing how Mojang made bats super retarded and annoying, I'd definitely wouldn't want any more flying mobs.
I have a great mob you would like!
the ender bird! It teleports! Makes creepy sounds! Stairs at you And flys with stupid box wings

Yes. cause I totally spread gold bars on my toast...
I like this. Crows being tamable might be cool. the rest seems pretty cool tho. DEFEND the crops with style!
The tameable aspect ive been very unsure of. I had it at first, but due to public pressure the idea has been removed. Originally though, just to get your opinion on it, the crows were tameable and would both alert you when mobs were close, and attack zombies.
Hey Thaegrim, as i said in the previous comment, adding in Abandoned farms would be a must for corn to get implemented(as it needs a special place, being the special crop it is) so i spent a bit building a small Farm( no corn field though) on the latest snapshot below are some of the screenshots of the outside the interior and a root cellar(or more appropriately a corn cellar) Enjoy

I believe this will be a great addition to minecraft i don't think it is necessary to bring a new boss into minecraft but if they where to i think it should be a spaceship that destroys some of your crops and creates one of those alien circles. after that a beam of light will come down and spawn a giant alien

I love the idea and design of the root cellar, though I think the actual barn exterior should resemble the already present npc structures like witch huts and villages. I will build something similar to show you what I mean!
This is just a little test ruin I built to sort of give an idea of the abandoned barn, building on your idea. I didn't get a chance to make a cellar like yours, but the entrance is depicted in image 3.
I think this would be a nice addition to the game and a good way to add some needed variance to farming.
I do have two questions though.
1) Does the corn need water nearby to grow?
2) What happens if you plant it in a greenhouse or underground and what affect will that have on the crows attacking it?

But now in Christ Jesus you who formally were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. For he Himself is our peace.

1) Very good points, I hadn't specifically outlined these I am glad that you reminded me. In my opinion the corn would not require the water after the crop itself is planted if you know what I mean? You need to let the stock grow in the same way you would any plant, but then after it has grown the corn will replenish itself regardless of whether or not the plant is in range of a water source block.
2) I hadn't thought of this honestly, what would you suggest?
