My suggestion is that animals will like/dislike you depending on what you do. If you feed them the food they correspond to, they are happy by one point. Similar to villagers,Punching/hurting the mob causes reputation to go down by one. Killing a mob will cause mobs in a 5 block radius of where it was killed to lose 1 reputation.
Reputation will do this:
At -10 reputation you will no longer be able to get near them. They will stay 3 blocks away at all times.(Confined to AI such as avoiding cacti and lava)
At -20 reputation mobs will no longer breed when going into love mode, only get +1 reputation
At -50 reputation mobs will attack you. Chickens do 1 damage(Half heart), pigs will do 3, sheep will do 3, and cows will do 4.(So don't get here, ever.)
At 10 reputation(positive) chickens will lay more eggs, sheep will eat grass to regrow wool more often(x2 than normal) and will take only 45 seconds to be able to breed again(1 minute normally)
At 20 reputation mobs will not go past fence gates(No escaping animals)
At 50 reputation mobs can breed again in 20 seconds. They will lay eggs and regrow wool at x4 the rate. (So be good to Mr. Sheep over there)
All of the previous levels stack onto each other, so -50 would have -20 and -10.
Why would we want this? The negative ones sound like a growing unfun burden on the player. The positives are also pointless as you can still easily manipulate and trap the animals any way you want upon fencing and breeding them. The reputation is gonna inevitable flicker up and down anyway as you're going to kill some animals regardless.
Overall, the negative ones are annoying and the positive ones are senseless due to being able to breed animals exponentially anyway.
This fits the villagers because they're (marginally) intelligent creatures, while the dumb animals are just... dumb animals.
This is really stupid, it's like all the mobs are humans who know who you are. Like the above said, this would be a dumb old burden on the player and is just really not fitting.
Being a nerd is nothing to be ashamed of. Nerds rule the world! Who invented the internet? Nerds. Who created personal computers and smart phones? Nerds. Who made every video game you've ever played and ever will? Still nerds. Who sent probes to distant planets? Nerds, nerds and more nerds! I'm a nerd and I'm proud.

Please , PLEASE ! Stop this ! it isn't funny anymore , find another catchphrase .
No support for the OP , this is an annoyance rather than a feature .
it's confusing and not necessary, no support
Roleplay characters:
Death (me)
War
Pestilence
Famine
Also, JUST STOP. It isn't and was never funny.
Yes. cause I totally spread gold bars on my toast...
This pretty much already happens, but with a better program. If a wolf sees you kill a wolf, it's hostile.
