This thread is about hostile mobs with unique abilities. However, you can only find this hostile mob in a certain biome type. I am hoping to make all the mobs have useful drops, too.
1. Savanna
The Savanna is going to have a new animal called a cheetah. Cheetahs spawn about as commonly as zombies do, except they spawn during the night and day. Cheetahs have 20 health (10 hearts) and are faster than a player sprint jumping by a tiny bit. They do 4 damage (2 hearts of damage) and drop 0-2 cheetah fur. Cheetah fur is now used to brew swiftness potions instead of sugar.
2. Swamp
The Swamps are going to have a new creature lurking in them known as the crocodile. Crocodiles spawn about as commonly as endermen do, except spawn during the night and day. Crocodiles have 30 health (15 hearts) just like a guardian. Crocodiles are about as fast as a zombie on land, but are as fast as a player sprinting in water. They do 6 damage (3 hearts of damage) and have a special attack. They will grab players in their mouth (this works as the player mounting the crocodile, but they won't be able to escape unless they kill the crocodile) randomly and drag them in the water. They will do 2-4 damage (1-2 hearts of damage) every 2-5 seconds to the player when holding the player. Crocodiles drop 0-2 crocodile hide, which can be brewed into an awkward potion to get a potion of resistance.
3. Desert and Mesa
Ssss.... Is that a creeper? No, it is a desert dwelling snake. Snakes have many different skins they can spawn in, like horses. Some snakes even camouflage with the landscape. Snakes spawn about as commonly as zombies do, except spawn during the night and day. Snakes have 15 health (7 1/2 hearts) and have a 25% chance to give poison 2 for 3 seconds on easy and normal. They have a 30% chance to give poison 2 for 5 seconds on hard. Snakes are very sneaky, like creepers. They do 3 damage (2 and a half hearts) Snakes drop 0-2 fangs. Fangs can be used instead of flint for arrows. Instead of getting 4 arrows when using fangs as the tip, you get 8 arrows.
4. Jungle
Deadly jungle spiders inhabit the jungles. Jungle spiders spawn a little bit less commonly than zombies do, but more common than endermen. Jungle spiders only spawn at night. They are neutral during the day. Jungle spiders have 18 health (9 hearts). They look like normal spiders, except are a cyan color like cave spiders and have purple eyes. They do the same amount of damage a normal spider does, but they have a 75% chance to inflict nausea 1 for 5 seconds. Jungle spiders drop 0-2 string and 0-2 jungle spider eyes. Jungle spider eyes are purple spider eyes. They can be brewed into awkward potions to get potions of nausea.
5. Extreme Hills
Mountain goats live in the mountains. Mountain goats look a little bit like sheep. They can be dyed like sheep and spawn naturally with the same wool colors sheep do. Mountain goats spawn as commonly as jungle spiders do, except they spawn during the night and day. They will charge at players and do 4 damage (2 hearts of damage) and do as much knockback as knockback 3. Mountain goats have 10 health (5 hearts). Mountain goats drop 1-2 wool of their corresponding color when killed and have a 0.01% chance to drop their horn. Mountain goats cannot be sheared. Their horn can be added to a weapon in an anvil to give the weapon knockback 3.
More ideas will be added as time goes by. Feel free to leave suggestions on what mob to do for a certain biome. The goal is a new hostile mob for almost every new biome. I will probably not make one for the ocean because guardians are being added.
Same here, if i wanted real animals (and fantasy ones) id get one of the extensive monster/animal mods but having different spiders each with different weaknesses would be cool, (I mean there are already 2 kinds) why not a creeper spider? blows holes in your walls or roof or something, or why not spider hordes?

I only like the jungle spiders and mountain goats.
PluUnderstandable. Cheetahs are larger then ocelots, live in savannas, are faster, and more dangerous.s, we already have ocelots, which are pretty much like cheetahs.

well maybe for tundra biomes you could have yetis also like the rest besides the spiders (I had a really bad encounter with a spider before) other than that I support

Hostile mobs like this suggests, but also neutral mobs, and even probability of ores (ice plain could have higher percentage of coal, jungle a higher percentage of diamonds, etc)

Agreed.

Understandable. Cheetahs are different from ocelots, though. Cheetahs are larger then ocelots, live in savannas, are faster, and more dangerous.
Understandable.
WOAH. That glitched out...
Snakes seem a difficult mob to attack though, with they're painfully small size and all. Carpet bombing them with TNT isn't feasible, sadly.. Hahaha
1. Cheetah's should be neutral until approached, and be as rare as crocodiles
2. Crocodiles shouldn't actively seek you out, but if you approach them or stand near the water they will track you/attack you
3. Snakes, when approached, should rattle their tails, and if you don't back off after a few seconds then they attack
4. Mountain Goats should have neutral behavior like zombie pigmen, if you attack they all attack.
5. Jungle Spiders should be green with cyan blue eyes, blending into the foliage.
PROUD USER OF THE STEVE SKIN
Jungle spiders being green is really overused. Spiders in jungles aren't really a green color. They're just huge and freaky.
I made a mummy thread. I might add that into this thread to replace the snake idea.
Great ideas. I'll add most of them to the post. Still thinking about the jungle spider coloring, though.

However this suggestion lacks depth. The item purposes are mediocre or pointless as well.
