Here's the list of things it doesn't add in: difficulty, survivalism, funfactor, etc.
Here's the list of things it DOES add in: tedium.
1) with a bucket and a 2x2 space of water, you can create an infinitely generating spring of fresh water.
2) survival isn't altered as water is found everywhere. This doesn't foster any survival characteristics as per point 1.
3) managing another bar that has no added traits/characteristics doesn't add anything
4) about the only thing this WOULD add is the tedium of remembering to drink the most common element in the overworld. This is boring and uninteresting, and in a worst case (since it only exists as an attention check) plain unfair as an indicator.
Maybe make it so all water found is dirty and needs to be boiled then cooled to be drinkable and water is rarer
See, you read what yoshi9048 said, about how it doesn't add anything other than tedium, right? This just makes it worse.

"Strong Pokémon. Weak Pokémon. That is only the selfish perception of people. Truly skilled Trainers should try to win with the Pokémon they love best."

Maybe we could not have this feature even touch the game because it would be unfun. And maybe we could search before making a redundant thread. We have a hunger bar to manage, let's tack on another one and make the all tedious and painful.
Regarding the comment that it's just tedium... technically that's how all the food works in the game. You need it (as you'd need the water) and once you get a farm going it's just multiplying and becomes tedious to constantly get more food.
Even so I don't personally like the idea of needing to boil, then consume water to stay alive. Unless drinking water filled your hunger bar? Wouldn't like it if it were separate lol
If you're aiming at challenge and this will only change Hardcore..
Support. It'd be more fun if mojang added more challenge into minecraft.
But would it really add more challenge? Based on how common water is, it really wouldn't add more challenge to minecraft. Just in the first day in a world, I usually have a bucket. Then I would just need to dig out a 2x2 hole (also not a challenge), and fill it with water (again, very easy). And suddenly, I never need to worry about water again.

I would say you are partially correct about Hunger, except the difference is they built mechanics based off the system. It by itself, with just an "eat regularly or you die" system, would be tedious. But they also make it a way to regenerate your health, and they give you the ability to sprint, which relies on it. It was also added as a balance change, as before the combat was simply a matter of who had more/better food. Plus, it adds (or changes, rather) uses for a ton of different items.
This is simply "drink water or you die", and doesn't add any mechanics or real item uses.

Can people just stop posting this idea and thinking its the most unique suggestion ever? I would make a list of reasons this is horrible, but i've already done that about 7 times.
I always liked this idea but it's not ORIGINAL but just to be nice... if you added ocean water bad (it's salty and you get nusia/poisonand and still water (infinite water sources) go stale or whatever water does these days then thats cool to.) BUT no support form me again I always liked this idea but it's not ORIGINAL

No support.
Every time a noob doesn't read the guide for Suggestions here and makes a fail post, God kills a kitten.
