Right now, water is pretty useless. Players don't need to drink water, which is pretty unrealistic. So my idea is to have a "thirst meter" right above the health bar. Every ten minutes or so, you would start to get really thirsty, and you would be inflicted with all sorts of bad effects. (Blindness, Nausea, etc.) So what do you guys think? Post your reply below!
Unlike food, there would be absolutely no difficulty gathering water. This would just be tedious.

"Strong Pokémon. Weak Pokémon. That is only the selfish perception of people. Truly skilled Trainers should try to win with the Pokémon they love best."
How is water useless? It's fundamental in making potions, turning lava source blocks into obsidian, putting the player out when they're on fire, conveying mobs and items, and nullifying fall damage!
Realism isn't really the goal of vanilla Minecraft. If you want things like thirst in your game, try a mod like TerraFirmaCraft.
Yeah water isn't useless. I use it for water elevators, moving items, traps, monster grinders, and lots of stuff.
There is also a mod called thirst mod. I believe it is also updated to 1.7.2. I haven't been playing minecraft for a couple of years so I'm not aware how the current build is but if it is same as before it is a great mod.
No support.
What did you think I meant?
