hi im bailey5531 and im making a mod pack
and i want to include you mod minecart mkII
i have never used your mod before, but i liked it when I saw it
i really like the booster
The mod currently isn't compatible with it's requisite API (forge), so you can't use it at the moment, and I doubt it will be fixed until after 1.8 is released.
Also, I saw your post in the Better Than Wolves thread. Let me tell you now; never, ever, ever, ask FlowerChild to let you put his mod in a modpack. He will rip your head off as soon as he sees it. Luckily for you, he's on vacation so at the moment you are safe.
If you had bothered to read the FlowerChild's original post you would have seen he says basically the same thing there. Stop being an idiot and actually use your head, it's really not that hard.
Note that if you want to avoid abuse from everyone in the future, at least use punctuation in your posts so that people can take you half seriously. At the moment you just come across as a newbie who has absolutely no idea what he's really asking for. Lastly, if you dare to use ad fly links for your modpacks, you will get crucified by everyone whose hard work you are leeching money from, and likely get banned from the forums.
You will wanna make a thread in Released Mods too. A lot of people want this mod but don't look in this section.
Also there's 2 file conflicts (that I know of) at the moment related to forge:
- pc.class, used by MKII and the forge itself
- yl.class, used by MKII and Better Than Wolves, which is designed to work with the forge
Asking that this mod is compatible with BTW is a bit much since BTW still isnt 100% Forge and this mod wont be Forge ready until it makes no basefile modifications either. Any basefile modifications needed should be submitted to the Forge team for inclusion in Forge.
EDIT: Well at least the detector blocks seem to work without the basefile mods.
Why? Mod packs are stupid. They will invariably contain all the mods a prospective downloader wants except for those two, and have four or five other mods in them that said downloader vehemently detests, plus one or two that they really don't care about. My point is, a mod pack isn't likely to be entirely satisfactory to more than, say, five to twenty people. I wouldn't be surprised if most of the people who download one end up using only about half of the included mods.

Of course, because you can tell whether a mod is good just by looking at the description. Obviously. It couldn't possibly be that it has a very nice description when it is in fact very badly coded, causes intense lag, and makes your game crash. No, no chance of that, right? And of course every mod will work exactly like the opening post describes, right?
(Not meaning to imply that this mod does that; only that you can't know whether it does just by looking at the post. From the lack of complaints in this thread, I'm reasonably certain that this mod does at least work. :wink.gif: )
Yeh but the author of the mod hasn't made a post in a month now, and 1.8 makes this even more incompatible :sad.gif:
(note: the author of this mod is *not* the guy that wrote the OP)
What exactly happened to it? I remember this thread once busy once, but now...
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Playing since Beta 1.3_01. Yeah. I like BTW. Or used to. Still do. Stuff Technic. (Back in the day...)

I would have to say vanilla boosters and pistons. Though I would love to see this mod get updated once beta is over, right now it would seem more of a hassle trying to keep up with the updates.
Vanilla boosters and pistons don't answer it all... Hell, Powered minecarts are still useless. Too bad the developer didn't want to implement linked minecarts too, but I can understand that.
Nope they don't and connected minecarts would be very interesting. I do believe their is a 1.7.3 version of this mod but with the speed at which MC is updating it would be a pain to keep this up till it stabilizes.
There's a Bukkit plugin for linked minecarts. Obviously that won't help those who want it for singleplayer, but still... it's there. And I imagine its source could be used as a basis for a singleplayer mod that does the same thing.

ok ok. I wont use his mod then.
and I wont use ad fly because, i don't like ad fly, i prefer a direct link.
I Feel The Need To Bring This Back To The Attention Of The Community, Still Some Great Ideas Here And Lets Get Mojang To Work More On Our Beloved Minecarts.
Not sure what had changed in 1.6+ but 1.5 did not use those files.
and i want to include you mod minecart mkII

I can help you by promoting
but most importantly you will be given credit for your mod

Yeh 1.0.6 uses those files.

Says it has fixed collision and stuff for minecarts, so doesn't matter so much now that Mk2 isn't being updated.
