Instead of a new realm, you could have special spawn conditions, so that they wouldn't spawn in company of the usual mobs. Where's what I got.
They would spawn on grass within the same levels as diamonds, and spawn on a light level from 7-14, which means they spawn in light, but not in direct sunlight. That way it would appear as if they would be found in underground caves with vegetation (and works so that they arn't found with normal animals, so long as you remove other mobs from spawning in those conditions).
Reminds me of 'Journey to the Center of the Earth' or 'Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs' kind of situation.
I JUST HAD A GREAT IDEA. What if this was a new underground world? like journey to the center of the earth? (fitting hey?) underground biome?
or a 50/50 chance of the portal landing you back in time!!!

Well I don't think Creepers and Zombies should be in the new realm. It should be a revered realm in the idea that nights are safer than days, just saying hypothetically. Make it so Dinosaurs are "asleep" during the night and the day is actually the dangerous time.
no!
it's dangerous on night and it's even more dangerous at the day
you will never be safe

In my opinion the models could use a little tweaking as in you could add teeth instead of the white squares on the raptor and the arms etc. but it is EXTREMELY good looking its just my opinion it could stay the same all i care but if this was made in the game i would get it there could be a redstone system to power the time machine but instead of a rectangle like the nether maybe a more circular shape
like the idea but theres to major problems 1 the mob s are to big they would barley be able to move 2 the running through stuff is horrible cause in a couple second it could destroy months of hard work and make some people so mad that he punches he screen
Sorry about no updates yet. Been a little busy with some things.

Ugh, no. We don't need another dimension.
Turn this into a total conversion stand-alone mod if anything. In that instance, sure. Sounds great.
Points for the logo in the OP, though.
Eh, everyone has their own opinions. Thanks.

This idea looks interesting. I do think you need to put more thought into it and flesh out your idea.
Thanks and yes, I still need to organize this a bit more. ^^;
Plus, I still need to show how to get to the dino dimmension...

I don't like the idea of the only getting back 1 fragment when fossil blocks are destroyed. lightstone and obsidian (and lava) screwups are expensive enougth already.
Fossils are fragile though in reality. Though, I think I'll change some things...
Huh, that's a good idea. I'll make that into an item...^^

This is a really cool idea. One question though; does the t-rex have any sort of limit as to how much rock/dirt it can break through? I keep getting this image of it shoulder checking a mountain and obliterating it.
As long as you're still in it's range of sight, then the rampage still continues. And if it were to climb a mountain, it would most likely travel upward while smashing the blocks it steps on while chasing you.

Not sure about zombies and the sleeping thing, but you do have to wonder where the Creepers originated from. :wink.gif:

Nice, but a single block for a tail is more than enough I think.
And raptors had feathers.
Based it off the raptor in JP for simplicity. Though, I may do one with feathers later for accuracy purposes.^^

All the more reason you need to avoid the brutes. Plus, this wouldn't be in the normal world you play in, rather another dimmension like the Nether.
And thanks for the support/ideas everyone! I promise I'll have something up soon! ^^
Hitpoints: ?

*Can be a possible mount under certain conditions.
Ha, amazing, Im wondering if this needs to be its own mode, or some of should be intergrated with the game, or all of it added to the game... If it is all added to the game it would change the feel of minecraft alot. Maybe for the better?
I got a few things in mind but I'm wondering how you're going to direct this Mod. Will it be going towards JP? Or will it be taking it's own turn? I mean if it's going to be more like JP then I got ideas on how you can tame the "state of nature".
Just an idea but I think that creating a whole new dimension for the dinosaurs might not be the best idea to start with, just because the amount of detail you will have to add to make it interesting at all would be ridiculous.
Why not for the first run just make it like this: You can dig in the main world for fossils just like any other mineral. You have different fossil types for different dinosaur's etc. etc.
Make dinosaurs essentially craftable creatures then by requiring someone to collect a full skeleton (of a certain type of dinosaur), and then require people to collect a certain number of pieces of technology to make a machine to reanimate the skeleton.
Once you have crafted the creature it is free to do what it wants, it could turn on you and try to eat you or whatever, but the main thing is that it stays spawned (kind of like a farm animal in farmcraft), and generally stays close to where it was made until it is killed, in which case you can get the skeleton back and store it away to reanimate later. Then you can collect skeletons and try to establish a population of them. You could even have ways to make them breed on their own, etc. but that seems a little too much to start. Just let the person have the fun of making the dinosaurs and set them free on their world and see what happens.
Then you can do fun stuff like generate the dinosaurs down in a pit or a moat and use them to guard you home or whatever. Maybe a system to tame them so that they don't attack you but defend your place by wandering around and attacking anything else. Like maybe another piece of technology, like a modulator that you have to successfully shot at the dinosaur to make it tame towards you and act like a guard. That would be cool. I think it would be fun to just let them be wild also, just running around in your world, not knowing when they might show up and attack.
Creating a new dimension though seems like it might be a little too much to start with though, and the way I have suggested here you could probably pull together tomorrow if you wanted!
I think eventually way down the road being able to travel to another dimension to see dinosaurs would be really cool too, but until you can do it right, why not give us some type of dinosaur action now with this shorter way??

And this way you could literally recreate Jurassic Park. The only items missing would be:
electrical fences
(Possible) transport cage
Watch tower (you can make obviously)
giant gate
Do you guys realize some dude is making Jurassicraft? He's already got two Jurassic biomes (tall redwood-like forests, open areas with some trees and cliffs) and a working flux capacitor on a pig!
