Why the hell is everyone afraid of creepers? They are literally the easiest monsters in minecraft (spiders have speed and lunge ability, zombies have lots of health, skeletons have range, endermen have a crapload if health and teleport)
In the current game, we can either have peaceful mode, which is kinda boring, or easy+ witch is full o' nasties (creepers mainly).
What I would like, is more control over the difficulty of Minecraft, rather than:
Peacful - BORING
Easy+ - CREEPERS!
This will allow me (and others) to have more fun in the game by being able to fight some monsters, without having everything we work hard to make blown apart by creepers.
~Possible settings~
-Which monsters you would like/not like to see, so you can have zombie survival if you wanted, or creeper mayhem!
-spawn rate - how often enimes spawn, (high, med, low, none etc) so we dont get swamped by enimes when we exit our house (unless we wanted to :iapprove:).
-health regen (on/off) I sometimes want to play peacful, WITHOUT my hearts regenerating on their own, as i want to actually have a use for food in peacful mode.
-day/night lenght (eternal, long, short, etc) - you could have a world in contstant darkness, where strategic placement of light is cruicial, or a paradise of contstant bright daylight, with monsters only underground.
-monster health (higer, normal, lower etc) how tough do you want the enimies to be when you fight them?
-own health (higher, normal, lower etc) you can be on the edge of death, or the top of health.
-monster destruction (on,off?) toggels whether monsters will attack walls etc to get to you, would be at same destruction speed as own fist.
those are all the ones I can think off currently, feel free to suggest more.
~Possible game modes~
Zombie survival~High health, high spawn rate, zombies only, eternal night, destruction ON, own health low.
Fight for your life as an army of undead tries its best to tear you apart!
Creeper mayhem! - simalar to above, but with creepers instead.
How do you like craters?
Paradise island - own health high, no monsters, eternal day,
Build what your heart desires!
(of course theres hundreds more, but you can decide them yourself )
~summary~
This update will allow players of ALL types to have more fun in the game by setting the Difficulty to what THEY want, the standard 5 modes would remain, but the custom mode would just add on.
This is NOT an attempt to remove creepers, but to allow people the choice whether or not to see them.
EXTRA!
The more complicated settings would be under an "advanced settings" tab, so as to not confuse newer players (thanks ActionSplash for the idea )
NEW! - Now we have a banner! Show your love for custom dificulty!
All :Diamond:'s for the banner go to xtenext, thank you!
While I know you have good intenions...This is something that, for any video game, should NEVER be done.
Why?
Because it would destroy the basic foundation that holds all of us players together, no one would be able to relate to anything. If it was all custom this, and sliders and settings, then showing off a castle or base would be meaningless.
Games need to hold us all to a standardized playing field, so that we can all refer to it.

The community seems to be split on whether or not to increase the difficulty for Hardcore. Some say it's still too easy, while some say it's fine (the world gets deleted and all that).
I would propose being able to set a custom difficulty at the creation of a new world. If you want to:
(Yeah I don't know what font they use)
Clicking this new button brings up a menu where you can change the health, damage, and speed of every mob in the game. As well as being able to change things like Fire/Fall/Drowning damage. Zombies can now run twice as fast as you, spiders can deal 10 hearts of dmg, skeletons can have 50 hearts, whatever you want!
There will also need to be settings to determine whether zombies can break down doors or not, and other stuff like that (although that's the only variable I can think of like it)
If you're in Survival/Creative, these changes can be reverted by setting the difficulty in-game back to Peaceful/Easy/Normal/Hard, but they're saved as a new 'Custom' option. (so clicking the difficulty switches between P/E/N/H/C)
If creating a hardcore world, you cannot set the mob stats below a certain point (so you can't make it easier) and the changes are permanent, since you can't change the game mode on hardcore.
Are you OK with how each game mode is right now? Fine then, you don't have to customize it and nothing will change!
Multiplayer? Possibly. The settings are all determined by editing the server file to 'true' or 'false' so it would definitely need to be tweaked to add in these new options. I'd say it's only available for SP, but Jeb has stated that he wants to eventually work on making single/multiplayer one in the same.
I like. Also, you should be able to set spawn rates (if you're mostly a builder, but do a little bit of action, you could turn off creepers, endermen and ghasts because they can destroy your work) and control your own hit points/attack.
Yes to specific mob spawns. No to changing your own HP/DMG.
