well whatever, I doubt I would use the block that much anyway (if it was implemented)
also, for rubber, maybe add a limit to how high you can jump before you get hurt, example: 40+ blocks might hurt the player when you land on rubber, even though the majority of damage is negated, it is still possible to take away around 5 hearts from sky level.
Don't forget that the songstone also produce gusts of wind that can be functional in various minecraft machines! Traps, way's to jump longer distances, as well as a nice airy cushion when you land. Very exciting prospects for me!
I filed a dispute as well. When I first read it it was not anything of what the Aether was.
This piggies are awesome, I agree with AndrewJohn though, that black line kinda annoying... maybe add some swirls to the piggy like the sheeppuff has? Not noticibly huge swirls, but ones close to the pink it already is?
The sheeppuffs are awesome as well. :biggrin.gif: I wish we could make them puffier though...
I honestly don't care for that idea at all, but you've given me a brilliant idea for how to handle Cloud Clay. I'll be updating its description in just a little bit, keep an eye out for it to change to "Cold Cloud"

I didn't make the sheepuff yet, I did however make a purdier flying pig phyg.
Edit: I like the name, it's playful.
Eehhh... I'm glad you like the name, but I honestly don't like the shape or size of those wings at all. Even without the border on them, I'd still prefer the rectangle ones that the current mockup uses.

EDIT: I recolored a sheep, do you fellers think this'd be a-ok as a texture for the sheepuff?
I like this guy though. When he's puffed up, He should look almost like a giant Zephyr, but with the front of the sheepuffs face and tips of its feet just barely sticking out of the edges. preferably his legs should be sticking out at 45 degree angles. It could also stand to remove that black border along its belly though.

Combine it with standing on quicksoil and you could manage some rather spectacular leaps, which I'm hoping will help give an alternate method than just flying to the player.

That SHOULD be it's UNpuffed state. When it springs up into the air it's supposed to puff out into a single big block with the sheepuff's face and tips of its feet sticking out at the edges.

I would assume that such a block will be used to power larger ships (provides wind for sails?) or minecarts in some way. Also the man cannon idea is awesome (don't get me wrong), but it reminds me oh so well of the Halo series (I have always had a hard time using those things).

the wings are too dark, there shouldnt be a really noticeable border around the whole wing
so maybe a light grey or something
other than that great work :biggrin.gif:
Yeah, thought so myself, I might as well remove the border entirely.
EDIT: I recolored a sheep, do you fellers think this'd be a-ok as a texture for the sheepuff?
That is freaky yet awesome at the same time. The colour and shading makes it look somewhat demonic but the idea itself is just genius. Again I believe that it is too dark, however this time I think it actually makes sense since we already have Zephyrs that feature the same cloud texture.

I find the fluff a little too dark, as it would make them look like a rain cloud when puffed up. I also find the yellow and blue contrast too much making it look like it has an illness, but I don't mind it much since the fluff blocks most of it (until you knock it off). Hope to see a puffed version soon!
Go ahead and post it. It's up to me whether it is actually going to get added to the main post though, and I have no qualms about rewriting abilities and location or such to better fit into the Aether or wherever I feel it will work the best.
size:1 block when balloon is deflated. 2 blocks tall when balloon is inflated.
speed: half normal mob speed.
attack:none, but randomly drops a green block every 3-4 minutes that,on contact with the ground, creates a spring for an acidic green liquid. It kills plant matter and damages you for 1 heart per second you are in it.
jump: none. floats when balloon is inflated
drops:0-1 small balloon.
extra info:
These creatures normally reside in the aether in huge numbers, floating through the atmosphere in large clusters. They do occasionally appear on the overworld, and usually float around tree tops, occasionally landing for brief periods, and take off as soon as any mob-besides other balloon lizards- are spotted. When killed, they drop a balloon block, which floats up. The balloon is essentially a smaller version of an aerwhales flight bladder. It is used for airships or other flying entities, but can also be used outside of entities, as a decoration or trap item. They can be crafted with 2 strings in the crafting table to create a stringed balloon, which when placed, will float up until the string is fully outstretched.

I tried to model the designs on it after the swirly things on the aerwhale. Though it would help it fit in with the Aether. What do you guys think of it?

I have to agree and disagree. I dislike the rectangle wings as they are extremely plain, but I find the wings Duck used looked too much like Butterfly wings. I DO think Duck was on the right track, but still, too much Butterfly.
square wings look too mechanical, at the most maybe triangle wings, I liked the newly made Phyg because it reminded me of mario (idk why, the wings for some reason) and it looked cute (I think so at least) compared the the Phyg 737 Jumbo Jet thats on the OP.

As I said, it was a step in the right direction, but it still looks too Butterfly like. I've also been thinking, just like I suggest for the Sheepuff, maybe it should be based off another species of pig, a Boar would be cool, but would be aggressive, so maybe just a subspecies of domestic pigs.
Recently someone has posted that they don't like the Aether over at Get Satisfaction and it has managed to get promoted to "best point" which adds it to the main post. I wouldn't particularly be concerned about this, but it managed to get there with only 3 votes, and all of the points he made are easily refuted, so I did refute them in a separate post. Please show support for the Aether by supporting my refutation and other posts that actually support the Aether topic.

I can't deny, the idea wings being done in an item style, rather than the standard blocky model is interesting, but I think it'll either look out of place, or it'll look like people should be able to gather the wings up as an item, and I don't want to give that impression. The blocky wings may be plain, but it also better fits the blocky style that minecraft uses for its mobs. Having the wings on the sides, instead of across its back, also ensures that the saddle will look better when placed on the Phyg.

hahaha thats funny(not sarcasm).

It's not a bad idea of its own, but I have to agree with flubbedpig and the others. It does look a lot more like it's growing a tree on its back, and even aside from that, it would be competing with the Sheepuff and possibly the Aerwhale for its actual function.

Remember, Aether mobs aren't hostile, and we already have teh Zephyr to knock you off ledges.
Well I still have the model. I could change the balloon somehow. any ideas?
I was thinking about making the balloon more like a vertical rectangle that is 2 blocks tall. That, or make it attached so that the creature looks like a blimp, with a horizontal rectangle on top of it.
Hey Grey! I just added my vote to make your summary one of the best points and it is now above that silly octopus thing! :biggrin.gif: I figured you would be happy about this.
What I meant was, I thought a Boar would be cool, but as it is Aggressive, it would be out of the question, thus, if it were to be another kind of pig, it should just be a subspecies of domestics pigs.

I was rushing to respond to that, so yeah. I have actually suggested Bulls, Boars, Rams, and Roosters as sort of "Herd Guardians" that would occasionally spawn with a cluster of Cows, PIgs, Sheep, and Chickens respectively and attack you if you attacked any of the mobs in that herd.
If we really need Phygs to look different from Pigs, why not just simply make it a black pig? or perhaps a deeper red or something? Either way, the wings sort of give it away. It's not like the Sheepuffs, where they'd look like regular sheep when not inflated.

In my opinion, it's flying capabilities are too much like the Sheepuff, but cool graphic none the less.
