I've seen threads on people wanting to be able to upload pictures and use them as art in-game. While I like that idea too, what about the ability to make pixel art in game? You could build the frame (which could determine the size) and then a "pop-up" would appear (kinda like the sign), and you would have a basic palette to create pixel art!
What do you guys think?

YES! this is so good, its something fun to do at night when you're too scared to go outside, or even just for kicks.
here, have a diamond for your idea
I like this idea, but I wouldn't want to get rid of the standard designs, maybe you could craft a painting with a feather (you know, as a quill. Maybe something else would make more sense) to enter the painting designer. Maybe you could specify how large the painting would be in the editor, since you can't build many different frame sizes on a 3X3 grid.

Holy crap I can post things. Players should be able to create on a scale they they don't have the tools to right now. See what I mean :viewtopic.php?f=1&t=77448&p=1185259#p1185259

Maybe you could make a quill like this:
]" title="-<->" /> []
[]
And then, if you place a painting with the quill in the inventory, it would go to the editor. Otherwise, it would put down a random painting. You could also make inks to increase the amount of colors you could use. Like this:
[] =
[]
[] =
[]
[] =
[]
[] =
[]
[] =
[]
etc...
Sponge is bucket
Colors are inks inside buckets
OR...
There would be a "Drawing Box"
You would be able to utilize it whenever you have a painting in your inventory. It would go to the drawing designer (Insert drawing here) and when you are done, you have a custom painting, then you would put it in your house.

Maybe you could have different size paintings by what it's made of then. Like:
Regular:
Rank 2:
1x2 blocks
Rank 3:
2x2 blocks
Rank 4:
2x3 blocks
Rank 5:
3x3 blocks
And each block would represent 16x16 pixels.
