The title says it all, but to pile on the point: Fired arrows act like most items and active objects in almost all ways but one: triggering wooden pressure plates.
As with any other item, fired arrows:
- Can be picked up
- Stop mine carts
- Are destroyed by lava
Unlike other items, they:
- Stay in place (unless picked up)
- Do not press wooden pressure plates
Clear? =)
Primary usage, obviously, is triggering power circuits from long distances, using the arrows to hit otherwise unreachable plates.
(Imagine if fired arrows could also trigger stone buttons, which can be placed on walls as well? ;P But anyway that's less sensible.)
That would be cool
theif running down your hall then you shoot a arrow in SLOOOOOOWWWW MOOOOOTTTTIIOOOON like in a movie and then it hits the pressure plate and big boom :biggrin.gif:

That'd allow some pretty nice situations. Being able to active stone pressure plates makes no sense, but wooden should be okay (though in reality, it would just break the plate. luckily not everything has to be realistic :tongue.gif:)
Actually, I think they DO press stone buttons. I mean, I've tried it in multiplayer, but not singleplayer.
Nay, arrows do not trigger stone buttons. I thought so too until I tried it long-range. The reasion it seems like arrows trigger stone buttons is that you're close enough that your right click pushes the button and fires an arrow at the same time. =P
YES Arrows trigger wooden pressure plates! Also I've heard people suggest shooting buttons, but the thing is buttons are small, I'm more for putting pressure plates on walls! Then you can either walk up to something to open it or fire an arrow at a wooden one.
Good idea!
