(I'm almost positive I put this thread in the wrong section, please reply back where I should put it . If it's in the wrong section of course.)
Hello World!
So recently I've been playing around with Superflat Worlds and make survival maps out of them that are difficult and enjoyable for players that are tired of the same old but want to keep there play style similar to vanilla. I ended up with a world/map called Blood Desert. A painful but fun experience it was to play. The map runs the latest snapshot (Of this post at least), 16w06a. There is no natural regeneration but tick speeds are increased. You play in hardcore mode, so play as careful as possible with these conditions in mind.

This map starts off in a desert, made up off red sand. You will spawn next to a village, but then you're on your own to look for more sources of life. Your form of mining, or caves to say, are mineshafts..lots and lots of painful mineshafts. These abandoned mineshafts will spawn in frequent clunks in your chunk. So resources shouldn't be that much of a problem, however, the mobs in these mineshafts are the problem. Fighting off cave spiders are fairly difficult. So make sure you bring a fair amount of healing/golden apples/health potions/etc. with you. (This should honestly apply to anything you do with this challenge!). Eventually, early game you would want a base to settle in. Rather it's in a village or a whole in the ground, you would want to make sure it's as safe as possible being how dangerous the world can get at night.

The goal of this whole map is to kill the ender dragon (as mentioned before I wanted this experience to be as close to vanilla as possible, hence most of this description sounding heavily like normal survival). I also find my self trying to get as many achievements as possible. But the way the map is developed, it's close, if not impossible to get all of them.

Well enough rambling here's the link! For anyone wanting the actually superflat code here you go!
Keep in mind that this is still Minecraft, you can play it any way you want, progress how you want. BUT here's how I made it fairly far before dying to a enderman in the End(>.> fml).
- Potatoes are the most recommended form of food in this survival mode. However, bread and carrots could also be used.
- Potions are almost required when going to the end, other wise you're going to be there for a while! (Strength and Instant Health are handy)
- Bring at least 2 stacks of blocks too the end.
- Build your base near where you spawned, that way you can travel to find villages, caves, etc. and use a compass to find your way back home. Also note, you can't use XYZ cords!
- PLEASE, never, ever, EVER attempt to fight a cave spider. Hit detection in 1.9 is fairly bad, and it doesn't mix well with cave spiders small hit box's.
