I'm asking this because I typed in "1" and got a really simply terrain made up pretty much of just forest and desert. After a while I did find swamp though, which must have been generated much later than the original seed was.
I'm asking this because I typed in "1" and got a really simply terrain made up pretty much of just forest and desert. After a while I did find swamp though, which must have been generated much later than the original seed was.
Seeds don't work like that. Terrain is generated through a perlin noise function, and the seed gives this function a starting point. The minecraft terrain generation creates each world based on the code in the perlin noise function. That is why when new terrain features are added that creating a world with a known seed from a previous update will give a different world.
