This is my first post on the forum. I have read posts here a lot before. A few days ago I created a new map named, "The World After COVID-19." Anyway the other day the world became corrupted and I couldn't see it in the menu. I did some research and I found two common solutions.
Trial 1: So I read from a few different places that sometimes you can get a corrupted world back by creating a new world with the exact same name. I tried that and it did not work.
Trial 2: I read that a good way to recover the seed was to install a file called NBTexplorer which can analyze the level.dat file. I had two relevant files. One was simply level (which was a dat file) and the other was level.dat_old. I read that if you had a level.dat_old you would need to change it to just level.dat. I did this but unfortunately NBTexplorer was unable to open either file.
Where I am now: So now I am at a loss. Is my random seed still recoverable and if so what steps do I need to take besides using a time machine and making a backup? I can link to the files if that would be helpful.
