I made a redstone vending machine in my definition advanced
Features:
Requires payment
3 diffrent selections
Coin return system
Handles being out of stock
Fool-proof features
I have a video that demonstrates the device itself, going over the features restocking the machine, and showing how fool-proof it is
Version Changelog:
Version#5
-New type of sound effect when your waiting for your item at the pickup window! Rather then a bloody annoying tick noise every second, it's now a nice pling that goes off 3 times.
-Added buttons and signs that are hooked up to wire that preforms a certain function (Like Collecting Coin, Starting Pickup Window system) This can be used to test/debug certain things in the Vending Machine you think are preforming incorrectly.
Version #4
-It's now possible to put the vending machines front area completely flush with a wall
-Minor aesthetic changes
-Time it takes to complete the delivery of a purchased item to the pickup window was cut in half.
-Covered up the water canals to prevent outside light sources from interfering with it.
-Reduced Vending Machines footprint.
-Minor optimizations for reliability, speed, preventing spam, and prevention from overriding the system.
Version #3
-Fixed issue where holding down the coin return button while an item is falling into the coin slot would not give your money back
-Fixed incorrect wiring of the error tone note blocks
-Added an audio cue when payment is accepted (high pitch sound)
-Pickup window piston system has been sped down 3 ticks to improve reliability. You won't see a significant difference.
Version #2
-Fixed coin return not giving your item back 50% of the time.
-Completely revised the coin return piston system, it now utilizes a double piston extender.
-Fixed issue where sometimes the out-of-stock piston system would send a one-tick pulse to the sticky piston that controls the RS-NOR latch.
-There are now note blocks that play when there is an item out of stock (low tone). The note blocks also serve as an error tone when it catches one.
No offence, but after watching your video and reading the topic, I tried building one of my own and succeded. Again, no offense, but this is easy.
If you can get all the machines features and make it function just like this, that's pretty awesome and how you had no tutorial to help you Can you please upload the map with your vending machine so I can see it? I always like to see peoples techniques in redstone.
So you can pay with any item? You might want to implement an actual payment system that accepts a specific item. A good example would be this vending machine:

Ahh, I saw your video a long time ago! I could implement a way to accept a specific item like what you have. But if I do so, it might not look as nice with my design. It might bulge out.[quote=Dragongirl253;/comments/8695767]
What if you put in blue wool and then bought blue wool? XD
Lol XD, then the obvious happens, you get a NEW blue wool block and your old one is taken away
Using various properties of the specified item. If you watched then video above then you would see how a machine can recognize the difference between redstone dust, redstone torches, and redstone repeaters. Other systems can be made to accept rails, sand, gravel, cobwebs, minecarts, etc.
This is the most amazing vending machine i have ever seen. the person who stole is just thinks he is so cool but nothing can be compared to the creator, you. Please provide more of these amazing minecraft contraptions, i really like this one
Rated down his youtube video. Not that his vid does the thing justice. Looks like the kid blew snot on a webcam then pointed it at the screen. He needs to learn something about video rendering...
Ok, so I took a look at your vending machine. It looks and works ALMOST flawlessly. Only problem I ran into was it when it came down the chute, it fell through the piston that was supposed to bring it up to me.
Other than that, a VERY nice design.

Yup, I have recently been having issues with it. I may post a fix. it has something to do with the timing of the piston system, it may be going too fast.

What do you mean? I was inspired by one youtube user, but other then that, I made this myself.
