I've looked at your thread, but I'll tell you that I don't even understand what that would even mean. Compliance with a standard set of device commands has nothing to do with the internal operation of this machine.
Enlarging the device can't be easily done in a piece-wise fashion, since all the components are strongly linked together. You can't simply add "more RAM" to it, since the Address of a Register of RAM is the Vertical Position itself. Calling it RAM is actually a bit of a stretch, since the entire apparatus is just a CPU. Every Pixel in the display corresponds with a bit of Landscape Data stored in the computation memory.
Then I misunderstood your machine. I'm more of a software guy myself :smile.gif:

It might be possible to create a device which translated remote commands using your standard into the CPU's control-bits, but it would be of limited utility.
then iwould count you as........-1 greatest redstoner ever! (because 0 means you suck and you dont so i went to minus one )
2-player really wouldn't be possible, since only one memory-access command can be issued at any given time. Also it would be impossible to distinguish the players from each other, since it has no graphics.
I think I already referenced that, but hey, now we have a pic.

Look here to find links to my inventions, creations, and my Youtube channel featuring Amazing Creations of Mine (Redstone engineering FTW!!!) and charming Music-Videos about clones. I also made "Minecraft in Minecraft" (2D platformer/building game). I'm currently trying to make a computer.
I'm going to be going camping for a number of days, but when I get back I can probably get around to uploading a save. I've never actually uploaded a minecraft save before, any recommendations on how best to do it?
Also, the number of views on my video seems to be growing exponentially; 22,000 last I checked. I think it might be going viral, but it's too early to tell. I guess I'll find out when I get back.
Who would have guessed that making "Minecraft in Minecraft" might be popular? :huh.gif:

Oh, awesome! Just what I hoped... you used repeaters EVERYWHERE!
Therefore, you can make your computer faster by just using redstone torch inverters. In order to translate the same signal across the wire instantaneously, you just need an even number of inverters.
Now, I do realize you need some delays. So yes, you'll need repeaters where you need delays. But everywhere else where you are simply using them to repeat the signal, use inverters (or 1 extra to make it an even amount). Then, you can shorten up all your delays (oh boy, more debugging!) and get something which should run much faster.

Fail, torch repeaters are two ticks and repeaters can be as low as one tick.
Torch repeaters are also bigger and more unwieldy.

Well, it was a little misconception I had. After doing an experiment with EIGHT each... I found that the time it takes for the signal to propagate through the wires is the same.
BUT: the repeaters take longer for their signal to dissipate. The difference is noticeable when you do this experiment. In that regard, you may say the plain torch method is faster.
Also, don't be a **** and call people "Fail" over stuff you don't read properly... I was mentioning using torch INVERTERS over even numbers of redstone repeater uses. If you have 2 repeaters and replace each with an inverter, it's essentially like a really long torch repeater. Except I think you thought I was talking about using 2 torches for EVERY repeater, which yeah, it would be quite retarded.

That may be true, but repeaters don't burn out if they're cycled very fast. Also using inverters, you may have to add an extra tick to prevent the output from being inverted.

Are you aware how many sites actually linked that video ? It actually might hit the million :laugh.gif: Good luck for infecting the Internet :laugh.gif:

Just compress the save, upload it to any file download site you like as long as there is no surveys, and add a direct link and a adf.ly link, because most people dont get bothered to much about having to watch an ad for 5 seconds.
Maybe you could make it a side scroller, and adapt the screen with actual stickey pistons, and draw some art! :biggrin.gif: idk...but when you put your file on the interwebs, some high speed joe is going to mod it a bit and simplify/improve it for sure.

what would you suggest being my next step towards a redstone computer?
ive decided my final goal in learning this stuff will actually be to remake this minecraft in minecraft ... but several months down the road.

would be proud.
p.s. While searching through google news i actually saw this exact same video before this thread
