I think I created a safety deposit box type system using shulker boxes. Here's how it works:
First you need to open an account, so name your account by signing a book and quill.
Next you need to make 3 (at least) copies of this book:
Books are nice since only you can create more of them (so long as you hang on to the original), so you have total security over your account. Next, you need to put the book into the system:
This puts the book into an item sorter, so you won't get this copy back. Then you need to do this again, putting a second copy into the system to get your shulker box for the first time:
This shulker box is unique to you, and you can access it every time you come back to the bank. You won't get that copy of your book back either, though, since item sorters get one item stuck inside them, but the last copy you have is yours to keep, and you can use it to access your shulker box any time you want (you will get this copy back):
While a shulker box is out, the lamp will turn off and nobody else can access their box until you put yours away as a safety:
Well, that's how to use it, so here's the circuitry:
The yellow circuit is the item sorters, which runs into the magenta line to release the shulker box out from the chests. Once the shulker box leaves the chest, the orange circuit unpowers, which retracts the redstone block so the shulker box can be put back into the correct chest, and the green circuit is simply an AND gate for the redstone lamp indicator. The red circuitry just powers droppers for item transport.
