because you used an entity selector of "@e" - there should not be a space after the "e" and before the "[type=zombie]". Also, it should be "@e[type=minecraft:zombie]" if I remember correctly.

Creator of Metroid Cubed 3, a Metroid-themed mod! Become a donator today!
/kill @e[type=minecraft:zombie]
i tried it this happens.
The entity UUID provided is in an invalid format
try it with @e[type=zombie], it's possible the change to Minecraft:zombie was in a later version.

It doesn't just kill you, it kills every entity in the world, including animals, mobs, boats, minecarts, item frames, ALL armour stands, items etc.
I also think in pre 1.12 it MIGHT be a capital Z, but that might be for 1.8 and lower.

Thanks a lot guys, the correct format was
/kill @e[type=Zombie]
really appreciate your help.
Also if you put @e[type=Zombie,name=Zombie] it will kill all normal zombies, but any zombies you have named will not be killed.
Might be useful xP
