I want to make a fishing rod do damage when you hook a mob (so kinda like a knockoff whip like in say Castlevania).
Is it possible to change this with command blocks? Like something with attributes or whatever? I have no idea, complete beginner when it comes to command blocks.
EDIT: so I ended up using /execute to summon a small area effect cloud along the path of the bobber, but the cloud doesn't seem to be doing any damage. The command looks something like this.
/execute as @e[type=fishing_bobber] at @s run summon area_effect_cloud ~ ~ ~ {Particle:crit ,ReapplicationDelay:0,Radius:0.25f,RadiusPerTick:0.25f,RadiusOnUse:0.25f,Duration:5,DurationOnUse:1f,Age:0,WaitTime:0,Effects:[{Id:7,Amplifier:100,Duration:200,ShowParticles:0b}],Potion:"minecraft:strong_harming"}
