I was scrolling through my search to find the command(s) to summon a hostile wolf, and I came upon a post that had these three lines to make a existing wolf angry at the nearest player in 1.14. It seemed to have worked for the person who asked the question.
/execute at @e[type=wolf] run summon snowball ~ ~2 ~
/execute at @e[type=wolf] run data modify entity @e[type=snowball,sort=nearest,limit=1] owner.L set from entity @p[tag=attackMe] UUIDLeast
/execute at @e[type=wolf] run data modify entity @e[type=snowball,sort=nearest,limit=1] owner.M set from entity @p[tag=attackMe] UUIDMost
However, when I tried to use them in my world, they didn't work. This may be due to my lack of knowledge on the command, as in maybe I need to change something.
I need clarity on what type of command block I should be using on each one of these commands, and fixes to this command so I can use it personally.
I just pasted them into a command block chain and it worked as expected for me. Did you tag yourself before you tried the commands? you need the "attackMe" tag.
The wolf still doesn't attack me, even though I'm doing clicking the summon snowball in survival. And after adding the tag.
Below are my command block set up.
Chain command blocks only execute their commands if the command block they are attached to has run its command. Connect them to the impulse command block as shown in the image I've included and make sure to set them to always active and unconditional.

1 impulse, unconditional, unpowered command block and 2 chain, unconditional, always active command blocks.

The commands still doesn't work, is there anything else I should be aware of?

I'm not really sure how to give myself a "attackMe" tag. Could you give me a demo command or image on how you did it?
