I have created a hand machine gun in vanilla Minecraft!
With dedication, you can accomplish many things! I have used the rotation parameters yet again to do something that was otherwise not possible before. I present to you- the vanilla hand machine gun.
Who knew the unit circle would come in handy? With multiple calculations, I had to approximate how far the 'ammo' would summon from the player, and in what direction it would follow. With over 100 command blocks, I managed to pull this off.
With the implementation of the /execute command, this had gotten one step closer to being multiplayer compatible. If only the /scoreboard command had additional syntax to target players using data tags.
It is possible for the machine gun to have vertical aim; unfortunately, with each additional 10 degrees vertically, I would have to multiply the number of command blocks by two. Therefor, a machine gun that targets upwards and downwards would require approximately 3,888 command blocks, each with their own unique positioning, direction, and Facing value on a sphere rather than simply a circle. This is a reason why I limited the machine gun to only a certain position on the Y axis, while maintaining an accurate 360 degrees horizontally.
YES YES YES YES YES! (excuse the excitement). Finally! Wow, this is amazing! I've personally been trying to do this for a while now. It wasn't possible before but thanks to the new parameters WE FINALLY HAVE GUNS IN VANILLA!
1. Do you mind if I showcase this? (all credit goes to your genius)
2. Are we allowed to use this in maps/creations etc.?
EDIT: Not sure if you know this, but the download link is broken.

Ahh, thanks for the heads up. I fixed the link. Why, of course you may showcase the machine gun! You may also use my mechanism if you give credit, and possibly add a referral to the video. I would appreciate a like for the video if you can. Thanks for the compliments!
Thanks for the showcase! I kind of felt guilty for the sake of your video when you were pressing the buttons. They don't do anything, I forgot to remove them as the spawners were formerly command blocks. Sorry for the inconvenience!
Just noticed a bug in the system. The last command block in the arrow summoning section is given the command execute a player that has a score of facing equal to 33 not 36. This means that if you face 33 you will get arrows summoning in two directions. : D
EDIT: (with arrows) facing direction 21 summons the arrow in the wrong direction.
Good job! I don't know why you did that slightly weird intro, but oh well!
You mean the crafting of the 'gun' itself? I was trying to mimic a mod's way of implementing the machine gun, such that it contains a way to craft it, and creates something new.

I'll try to compact this and fix up the bugs you mentioned so that it is easier to download and use. Also, I see that the machine gun itself shoots the first time you use it even though you don't have any ammo.

Finished! I have updated the map that includes significant changes and a massive cleanup in the redstone. It is much more compact now, and easier to understand. I have fixed the bugs mentioned, and it no longer shoots the first time you use the machine gun. I have also made the arrows shots from the machine gun act as arrows from skeletons, that way you don't use the machine gun to duplicate arrows.
Nice work! But, a guy named crushedpixel wrote an MCEdit filter a while ago to make this kind of machine.
If you'd check when I made this video, you'd know that this was approximately two months before crushedpixel created his filter. I did this hand by hand, and had to calculate the directions one by one. I'm glad someone made a filter to simplify the work for others!

Thanks!
Using this technology, I managed to engineer it to this!

Gotta love 1.8
Sorry, I pressed the "post" button twice.
