Hi guys, i am teh_cANONs, and I understand people are having allot of trouble building iron trenches using Tango Tek's design. I have been getting a lot of personal messages from people asking me to join their servers to repair their trenches, so I decided to make a forum post and a youtube video dedicated to helping with that.
I have helped several servers finish their trenches, and I have come across several problems that are common among the ones i have fixed. In the video, I went over most of them, and I also reiterated a few that Tango pointed out in his videos. Anyway, this thread is all about getting your trenches working, so watch my video, and if it doesn't help, I'll help you get it working as best as i can.
If you want me to come onto your server, please provide me with food, tools, redstone materials, and blocks.
I do apologize for the low quality of the video, but my computer can barely handle minecraft at all, much less record gameplay. This is also my first attempt at any kind of video recording and editing, so don't expect too much. Hopefully in the future, I will be able to make a better quality video to replace this one, but for now, I'll have to ask the you bear with me and put up with the low quality.
FIRST EDIT: I know Tango said it doesn't matter which way the doors face, but he meant they can face EAST or WEST. If they are placed facing NORTH or SOUTH, the trench will not work.
SECOND EDIT: Please post in this topic rather than p.m. I understand p.m. is better than this for posting server IPs, and that is how I would like to recieve them. However, I was hoping to be able to post the fixes in this thread, so others can see all the problems I find, and use them to further troubleshoot. Thanks
THIRD EDIT: Tango Tek himself posted here! Thanks for all the positive feedback! Keep em coming, I really enjoy helping you guys!
FIFTH EDIT: Guys, I will gladly accept help from other people who are good with these trenches. However, please only make one post with the full fix, screenshots of what needs to be done, and detailed explanation of what is in the screenshots.
If I fixed your trench, please consider throwing your pennies at me!
thank you for replying so quick i tried fixing it by shifting it 2 blocks but it still doesnt seem to work i put in a world download so if you could look at that and tell me what im doing wrong. ive waited for about an hour after i fixed and so far havent gotten any iron
i know im asking for a lot by asking you too look at my world download but if you could please help me out ive gone back and looked to see if i missed anything and i cant seem to find anything wrong. you probably wanna look at it on peaceful mode because i havent put up a whole lot of torches just yet.

i found 3 problems. one was a missing repeater, another was your line of hoppers up top werent getting a pulse they were needing, and finally, the doors you placed under the smaller building were facing the wrong way, and there were several in the main building facing the wrong way, as well.
here, add blocks the way i did where i put the gold ore, and make sure the redstone leads to the block on top of the piston. http://i.imgur.com/pvmIXT2.png
here, break all of these doors, and replace them. this time, make sure you place them facing east or west, not north or south, like most of them were. http://i.imgur.com/VH2VUBZ.png
also, if you want your trench to be fully efficient, you should go through and break every door and replace them, again making sure you are facing east or west.
after making these changes, i have tested and it is fully functional.
yeah that repeater i found right after i posted this thread but i forgot to put it on here that i found it. so sorry about that but this thing is working like a charm now
Im so confused now because in Tango's world download he has so the redstone goes directly into the piston not coming out from the side, and if u have it coming from the side the piston will not activate and wont send power to the pistons going down.im not sure why but the one in my world is going a lot slower than the one in tango tek world download
your supposed to face east or west when placing the door for the main structure and secondary village thing right? because thats what i did when i changed all the doors
Yep. It has to be exact. Just move it and reset it the way I said in the video. Lemme know how it works out for you
Necessary is subjective, it just depends on how much iron you want/need.
if you watch Tango Tek's iron trench video, he covers all that and more.

i specifically mentioned this repeater in my video... http://i.imgur.com/4csMw5e.png

he really should have specified, but he assumed people building it would know village mechanics fairly well.
you might want to be careful with that. it was just fine the way it was in the world download
if you reverse it, the trench will not rebuild properly
