Hey there everyone! Me and my friend (credit to MinecraftLive, or miker676) were testing out a single-lane tnt cannon on a testing range (up to 280 blocks).
Remember to download the map(s) and post your distances today!
With this type of cannons we got these distances (1 TNT means one propulsion TNT + the throwing TNT, 2 TNT means two propulsion TNT + the throwing TNT, and so on):
These are approximate values based on the skill and speed of button-pressing reflex.
Screenshots and the testing range map are coming soon! (This topic will have a proper post soon!)
Sorry about the messed up table up above, I will try to fix this.
Holy crap, you're right about needing precision... Almost 120 block distance on 8 TNT!Holy crap, you're right about needing precision... Almost 120 block distance on 8 TNT!
you can also get a last second dsitance timer by doing 9 redstone repeaters in full ticks(3 clocks each) and it gives you a great last second distance shot

This is when you press the button within 0.1 to 0.7 seconds before the blow.
When you power TNT, it will "jump" up a few eights of a block, and if the blow takes place during this moment, it will fly 20% to 100% farther!
That is a last second [button-press] distance.
We did try this in version 2 of the map, however this takes fewer than 1 tick precision for some reason.
Well, TNT still have a blast/force radius, so don't make it too long (it will actually make it go less farther).
You must also be a less then a tick (0.1 seconds) precise so you press the button when the TNT jumps up at it highest point.
These values are based on the best press, not an average.
That would be it. Much better manually :tongue.gif:
