I want to see you make a 2*2 modular elevator with no visible redstone and floors. If you made one I would put it on my server. Anyway all of your creations are awesome so keep building!
I have tried to place the schematic for the MK7 into my world for 2 days now and It won't work! I had no problems with the Mk5 at all. Now, whenever I place it, and hit the button. It sends the signal throughout and from the bottom floor the elevator just ticks down a block. If I keep hitting the button, it keeps going down one more block till it doesn't receive a signal anymore. I can send you the world save if you need it but I just want to have an elevator!! thanks so much for your help!
Err.. well.. if that's what you want, on your server.... Why don't you build one? :wink.gif:
Btw.. Pretty sure 2x2 with absolutely no visible redstone is impossible... but don't let that stop you :laugh.gif:
Hmm.. I don't know what to tell you...
I thought maybe I'd messed up on the schematics, but I've just downloaded the file and built a Mk7 and Mk7+ from scratch.. and they both work just fine.
Make sure you have Copy Air selected, especially if you are embedding the ground floor into the ground.
Make sure each bit is lined up exactly with the section below (easiest using the front "face" as your reference)
Also check you've got it exactly on top of the bit below, when you think it's right, Nudge it up 1 block (check there's a gap) then Nudge it back down so it just touches.
Beyond that ... err.. are you using the latest version of whatever Map editting tool?
I know WorldEdit has ( had ? ) some problems with the orientation of the pistons. Maybe check that.
I've unchecked copy air and tried it several times. Then I double checked the the line up as I laid the schematics. I feel like it can't be that big of a problem. Something is just misfiring. Instead of pushing it up, it just pushed the cart down one block so maybe the top pistons are being fired before the lowest ones? The wierdest thing is I copied the one that misfired and moved it to the above location and it worked. Then I made a really small version (just ground floor and top floor together) and copied it under ground....and it worked both underground and above...so I've tested pretty much everything and I'm about to just make a parkour style obstacle to get to the top out of hatred for my stubborn file save....
p.s. my Mcedit has been up to date as much as possible. I install the update whenever I see there is a new one.
I do have a question. When I try to copy it to my world using MCedit, the elevator doesn't work. I press the button then hop inside, but all it does is make to trapdoors flip down and doesn't move. Is that a problem with MCedit, or am I doing something wrong, because I tried calling it from the top, but it did the same thing. Help please?
Hi there, first of all really really great job! Im new to MC but im studying computer sciences so i thought i would start with a nice redstone machine, then i came across your fantastic elevators...
I got a problem tho, i rebuilt your MK7+ from scratch with the provided schematics, on SP and MP and both are stuck the same, i just cant find the solution...tried it over and over again, always the same...im really frustrated atm...
Could you, or someone who got some time look into it? i will provide the save, my version is just left of the original one.

That's exactly what I was talking about. The problem is in the ground floor. It will drop a block down instead of going up until the redstone just activates the trap doors because that's all it can do...I used MCedit too so maybe it's a problem with copying? I didn't use copy air or water and lined it up perfectly several times. Get this, it seems to work better, or at least work, when it's above sea level...not quite sure why or how that could affect it. I gave up and just used a plugin lol.
I was trying to get this to work on my SMP server and was having trouble due to the redstone lag... but I finally got it working. I ended up having to add an extra repeater to delay each level at 4 clicks (max) and toy around a little with the syncing from left to right. I still have problems occasionally with getting stuck inside a piston but it doesn't happen very often. I ended up making the box next to the piston on the bottom a 2 deep water hole so I can fall down into that for quick descent, or in case it bugs out and I fall. Overall, this elevator is great, just wish these th ngs would work better on SMP!
Thank you! I was looking for an aesthetically pleasing, realistic elevator! With a schematic, of course. Do you mind if I use them in my "secret project?"
I'm gonna edit it a bit, but I'll still give you credit.
So if I'm looking for a multi-floor call then go design, which parts of your world download would I look at? The large number of demos in your world get really confusing..
Hey, nice work with the elevator.
Just wondering if you (or anyone else here) have checked the functionality of the Mk6 recently. I know there's the fix for 1.0 linked to on youtube, but by the looks of it that's for the Mk7+. I've tried it both in the downloadable world (in which both the Mk7 and 7+ work fine after the 1.0 fix) and through importing it piece by piece. Through importing it piece by piece I've tried four different forms: bottom only, top and bottom only, top and bottom with one lift section, and top and bottom with two lift sections. In all forms, pressing the button when the car is at the bottom causes the top trapdoor to flip down and the down inchworm pistons to extend and retract a number of times. When the button is pressed and the car is at the top, the two top trapdoors flip down and the up inchworm pistons extend and retract. This leads me to think that there is definitely an issue with the bottom section as a number of others have mentioned for different models. There may also be an issue with the top section, but, having not tested very much, and not having the highest level of understanding (I have watched the science videos mind you), I am not as sure about this. I'll try do more testing (to the best of my ability), but if anyone is able to help it'd be much appreciated!
AWESOME.
God, these designs are just so elegant, so perfect, and soooooooo AWESOME.
+1.
